To all that may need a room for the day/night, Chanhassen has sold out Hotel/Motel rooms because there's a Religious Convention in town, but we were out last night and came across a new Holiday Inn right down the rode from Paisley Park and They have 30 rooms available and here is the info:

Holiday Inn Express - 7855 Century Blvd.-Chanhassen, MN 55317 952-401-8850

So much for that... sigh ... I was so geared up to go, mentally prepared to fly from London to MSP and back within 36 hours, had everything sorted out from tix to PP, rental car and all the rest of it... and then Delta had an overbooking situation due to half-term holidays around here, and we (as staff from another airline) were of course the first ones to get ticked off the list... disbelief

Anyway, for all of you lucky ones that can make it: enjoy the night, I'm sure it'll be great! And I really really really hope there'll be another celebration at PP soon beg

sad aww mate... comfort I'm gutted for you
I'm not stopping. I haven't even taken my coat off

C'mon and dance while you, while you still have your cherry babe, cherry babe..

So door tickets go on sale at 7 pm? Does that mean we have to start lining up that early to get a good spot even if we already have tickets? Sheesh

In my opinion, there's not a "bad" spot in the place. Unless anything has significantly changed, the room is big enough and the stage high enough that there are good sight-lines from everywhere. That is, unless you're pushed up against someone in front who's way taller than you.

I spent every night at the last celebration in the back half of the room, if not the outright back of the crowd and I could always see everything, the sound was great, had plenty of room to dance and didn't have to worry about anyone crowding me.

Oh heavens, I sincerely hope NOT. falloff That's downright ridiculous.

The peeps at the park appear to be doing everything to ask people NOT to show up before 7pm. It would seem the only respectful thing to do that people honor that.

I'm going to have my friend drop me and another friend off close to 7:00pm to try and buy a ticket. Hopefully the buses will not start carting people from the bus stop to Paisley until 7:00pm. I see Star Tribune and Pioneer Press both have the info. right on there homepage's, so this might get a little crazy! If things go smoothly when we try and get our tickets, I can report back about the status of the crowd.

I'm thinking not, unfortunately.

Got this from Star Tribune.

Please read the info below, so things run smoothly tonight. Thanks.
Door tickets/wristbands go on sale at 7:00 PM. The event starts at 11:00 PM.
No on-site parking, other than handicapped spots. Concertgoers should park at the Southwest Village Metro Transit Station at Hwy. 212 and County Road 101. Shuttle buses will carry you to Paisley Park.
No cameras, video, cell phones, smart phones, recording devices of any kind allowed inside Paisley Park. Please leave those items in your car please. If you have these items on you, you will not be allowed in the Studio. Paisley Park is not responsible for your belongings.
The concert also will serve as a fundraiser for Prince's charity, Love 4 One Another. Fans are asked to bring new and gently-used coats and winter clothing, canned and boxed foods and bottled water, which will be distributed to those in need in the Twin Cities area.
Dress warm & sexy, and have fun. Peace.

The Minneapolis rock star, who has been seen around town more frequently in recent months after making Los Angeles his home for the past few years, announced that he will stage one of his now-rare late-night shows tonight at Paisley Park, his recording studio and home in Chanhassen.

He and his band will perform at 11 p.m. today, according to an e-mail sent to music critics late Friday afternoon.

Same here---rrrrrhhhheallly detailed reports! I'm so bummed I missed getting this post--no waaaay I'm gonna be able to get me, hubby and son to Minni before tonight--let alone get tickets. Aw, well--as a fairly new fan, I guess I'll have to pay my dues before I get to see a concert! And now. . . a shameless request. Akhem. Yo, Prince--come spend New Year's eve in Denver--pretty please!? Have fun everyone--I'm sure it'll be amazing!

I was thinking the same thing. I was going to have a friend pick me up, but with no cell phone kind of hard to do. They used to have a payphone there, not sure if they still do or even if they would let you use it!
