Monster.com

I am in the process of posting my resume on Monster.com, and was wondering if any of you have done the same, and if you did, did you have success in finding a job through their website?

It is taking longer than I thought, because I have to fill out a "resume" (grrr, I thought I could just upload the resume that I already have). I also have to fill out an "application".

I am just wondering if this is worthwhile, or if I am wasting my time. Any and all feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm registered with them...I've gone on a couple of interviews through them and I think it's a valuable resource. Good luck!

Last I heard, hotjobs.com was the "hot" online employment site of the moment...I'd still register with monster.com, though, cuz you can never be too hooked-up. Also, look into Craig's List, which should have a local bulletin board near where you live - look it up on Yahoo. It's a good resource, too.

Thanks, guys! hug I'm also in the process of posting my resume on Cleveland.com, a local website where I live. I'm bound to get some calls if I register enough online and with employment agencies. ~crossing my fingers~

Hey, psycho,

I'm also a Cleveland orger who has used Monster.com. It does work -- I got my last job there. Just be patient.

Craig's List tends to have customer service job listings...give it a look-see.

Monster.com is a good place to find leads, but I wouldn't recommend using their Apply Online option solely. I would also email a copy of your resume directly to the employer and a physical paper copy. The only replies I've ever gotten from anyone on Monster.com were people I contacted directly.

Yep, it IS small... so I hope we aren't competing for a job in the same field here in Cleveland! lol

lol -- probably not, Lammastide, since my work field is administrative assistant. lol

But I did post my resume on Cleveland.com and Monster.com. Took forever for me to fill in all of the fields, especially the employment part, since I have a lot of experience! I'm hoping that generates some leads.

Good luck in your job hunt, I hope you find something soon.

Poland is about an hour and a half southeast of cleveland. Its a snotty litte suburb of Youngstown.

Tom, I actually think I recall chatting with you a few years back on AOL. We had a few brief chats about Prince, but we were rarely in the same chatrooms.

Anyway, My brother and his fiance live in Boardman, Ohio. How close is that to Poland?

I think Boardman, Ohio is close to Youngstown, from what I remember. It is also where former Browns quarterback Bernie Kosar used to live.

Good news on the job front, I just posted my resume yesterday, and already I got two responses from companies that want me to come in for an interview. Wish me luck! woot! dancing jig woot! dancing jig
