Nope must have pre-scheduled tix . Luckily it was done. Definitely going to see ot again. First, Thor, BWAHAHA. Good one. rose to those Avengers that were lost.

For me it was a good mix of story, dialogue and action. Plot hole, i think, 5 years, school. The woman thing I agree it was a tad uncomfortable and not needed.

This is definitely going to break box office records.

The plot hole you refer to is easily explained. If we assume that everyone there was also snapped. Or at least, all his friends who have already signed up for the next movie.

Are intermissions still a thing in the States?

No, other than between films of a double feature ... but that's extremely rare these days.

3 hours is not that uncommon. Lord of the Rings, Braveheart, Dances with Wolves, King Kong, etc.

Not as common now as the 80's and 90's though.

For first run movies, the theaters would be losing money if they had intermissions because they'd have to schedule one less movie each day to fit them in.

LOL. I haven't seen a movie - or been to a concert, for that matter - with an intermission in a long, long time. But when you get to a certain point in your life, well....words to live by now are "Never pass up a chance to use the restroom".

If you go before the movie starts, then you should be alright.

Also, eat something salty before with minimal liquid. You might have a cotton mouth, but your bladder should be fine wink .

I guess if braces were there in the beginning. I might have missed it. They sure made a big deal about the old man baby thing but that could be for show.

I know one thing im bringing water. 20 minutes early still wasn't enough time to get snacks lines were crazy we skipped them but i got so thirsty hslfway through it. Then all that damned water didn't help.

that's not a plot hole at all, if i understand what you're saying. basically four characters were dusted & are now the same age. the odds of those four being dusted is 1/16 - stats class was a good length of time ago for me, but i believe that's correct. not all that unlikely.

Just seen the movie again, this time with my daughter and a packed cinema. First things first, I think the movie is even better the second time around. The first time, I was a little taken aback by some of the more surprising scenes. Now that I knew what was coming, I was able to just sit back and enjoy it. Last time I saw it the cinema was virtually empty, save for maybe 15-20 people. This time, every seat was sold out and thankfully, everyone was on their best behaviour. No talking during the movie or anything. Well, almost no talking. Several times during it I could hear my daughter commenting on things under her breath. Keep in mind, she's 7 years old. And at that scene at the very beginning when a certain character's family do what they do, I could hear my daughter say "Jesus" as she squeezed my hand. In fact, some of her reactions throughout the movie were priceless. After more time has passed and we're able to discuss the movie in more detail without fear of ruining it for people who haven't seen it yet, I'll tell you more of her comments. As I said, some of the things she was coming out with were hysterical. And the best part was that she didn't realise I could hear her.

A few things I noticed about the cinema crowd. Several people were audibly crying at various parts of the movie. Especially at one particular part. And not the part you'd think. The scene that got most people was the very last one. The very last shot, in fact. It even had me going and I'd seen it already. Also, as I predicted, it seems that several cameos completely went over most people's heads. A certain butler, in particular drew absolutely zero reaction.

Overall, this second viewing has just solidified my opinion that this is the best superhero movie ever made. And, as a girl who grew up watching the real Superman and Batman movies, that's not an easy thing to admit. But it's true. The movie is a miracle. They somehow wrapped up 22 movies worth of storylines, not to mention a few TV series' storylines, and still managed to pack hundreds of nods to those movies and shows, all while making sure that no character feels short changed (although my daughter wanted more Captain Marvel) and setting up the future of the MCU very nicely. We know who will feature in the next Avengers movies, we know who won't. We know exactly where The Guardians of the Galaxy are starting out from in Vol 3. We know who'll be joining them. And the fact that we got The Perfect Ending to each and every character is, as I said, an absolute miracle.

Aren’t you glad your daughter and other kids are seeing role models today so that when they grow up, they find it normal and not “patronizing” to see female characters as superheroes? It takes time to change things and erase stereotypes.

One tradition that this movie continues on is the use of cheesy generic sounding music. Is there no one in the same league As Jhon Williams in no making today? I’m sure Disney can afford anyone they want.

I'm all for female role models. I never had any, in movies or real life. When I was my daughter's age my role models were Michael Keaton's Batman, Christopher Reeve's Superman and Robocop. I'm glad my daughter looks up to characters like Captain Marvel. What I found patronising about that particular scene in Endgame was how heavy handed it was. It was also really out of place. The best way of going about putting women on par with men in these movies is to not draw attention to their inclusion. Just by including those kinds of scenes they are not treating the men and women equally. That's my issue with it. Equality doesn't mean special treatment for women.

Dave Jordan is the music supervisor on all MCU movies. The music choices might be generic to your ears, but they help to establish continuity between movies. That's the very reason why Dave Jordan is assigned to every movie. It's a deliberate choice.

Although I agree with you that there should be more effort made to create more memorable themes for each hero. Superman has his theme. Batman has his theme. Even Wonder Woman has a decent theme. The MCU characters should have theirs too.

But to a little girl it isn’t patronizing. I think it’s normalizing it, so it’s not something people notice later. Like seeing a black President in movies before Obama, like Morgan Freeman in Deep Impact.
That’s just my opinion. I don’t have a strong opinion on the matter but i think it’s ok. Like i said in my previous post, i noticed it, but It didn’t bother me.

(the guy being gay seemed forced but I do not care other than it was 3 mins that could be cut)

ow old is your niece? My daughter is 7 and I'm taking her to see it today. I know the 3 hour runtime won't be an issue with her. The only thing I'm worried about is (MINOR SPOILER) Captain Marvel's lack of screen time.

She is 8. Ive taken her To infinity war, Spiderman, Captain Marvel. Justice league and I think Antman & The Wasp hmmm She is a huge Spiderman fan.!.
I was waiting for her to cry when they killed Spidey off in Infinity War. When we got out the movie I said did you cry? She said it's only a movie not real. But she was not happy with him dying off.
My older neice 13 said she started to cry lol

She told her mother that I said I would take her to Captain Marvel. So I had to take her. lol. When we walked in the theater she seen the poster for "Wonder Park" she says I want to see Wonder Park instead. I was like are you sure? She's like Yes. I said ok.. shrug
Then she paused and was like. No let see Captain Marvel.
In my head I was like Yes!!!! lol

My little neice gets restless in her seat. But I know she will flip out when her hero pop out :she: lol
If I don't take her Tuesday I'll probably go the week after. It will gives me a chance to see it in 3D

Just got back from seeing it.

When are we safe to discuss spoilers?

I really liked it, but the plot has more holes than a swiss cheese.

I knew who the kid was but that's because I evidently have no life and have seen all these movies multiple times. So even though he's older, I still recognised him. The one that most people in my screening missed that I was particularly disappointed by was Jarvis, from the Agent Carter series. I literally let out a little yelp of excitement when I seen him but nobody else seemed to know who he was. I kind of wish they had included more of those little cameos. Like, that Hail Hydra scene in the elevator was a great opportunity to put in CG versions of Powers Booth or Bill Paxton. And I know that Coulson is kind of dead in Agents of Shield but they could have had him showing up in one of the time warps.

No need. There's already another thread for spoiler discussion. This thread should stay spoiler free for now so that the movie isn't ruined for people who haven't seen it yet.
