ABOUT FRICKIN' TIME

Le'Veon Bell signs his Steelers franchise tender

It's official -- Le'Veon Bell is back with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Steelers star running back, who returned to the team facility briefly last week to take his physical, has signed his $12.1 million franchise tender, the team announced Monday.

Bell passed his team physical Friday after briefly arriving at the Steelers facility, NFL Network's Aditi Kinkhabwala reported.

"I feel good, I feel great, I feel fresh," Bell said Monday, per Kinkhabwala.

With sides unable to come to terms on a multi-year deal before the deadline in July, Bell sat out the entirety of training camp and the preseason. As he had not signed the tender, the running back wasn't under contract, therefore not subject to fines by the team for missing time.

My only disagreements in bold. The Cards are going to be better, the Broncos QB situation is a mess, and the Saints' D remains suspect until proven otherwise, so the rookie Dalvin Cook could have a big day at RB for MIN.

Funny those were the 3 games I could have gone eithier way. I went with the Lions and Broncos because they were the home team. Picked the Saints because of Breeze and the Vikings just felled apart at the end of the season last year. Ravens/Bengals I just picked the home team for those games.

Ever since I fired an employee (who deserved it by the way) that's a Patriots fan, I deeply want them to lose every single game, just for sweet revenge.

Is that wrong?

glad they won but don't like the score. Didn't see the game. Running game suffered. If Bell wants the money he's gonna need to do alot better. Not showing up to preason really hurt his game.

The offense was out of sync simply because they haven't played much in preseason.
Ben played 2 or 3 series the entire preseason. Him and AB showed no signs of rust but Bryant and Bell did. Bell found his legs late in the 4th quarter and wore Cleveland's defense down on a few carries on the final drive to run out the clock. The Steelers offense played rusty until AB got his hands on the ball and took over. It also didn't help the Steelers killed any momentum with penalties.
Defense was solid a lot of the game. Cleveland's offense benefitted from ticky tack calls against the Steelers defense to keep them in the game. Steelers defense had 7 sacks. TJ Watt had a surprisingly good debut against All Pro tackle Joe Thomas. 2 sacks, a few qb pressures and an INT in which he plucked out of the air like the former tight end he was in college. Looks like the Steelers may have a good one there. It sucks Ryan Tuitt went down with an arm injury in the 1st quarter after inking a new deal on Friday. Haden looked solid in the secondary. Please stay healthy Haden. Cleveland may have finally found them a qb in Kizer. He has a strong arm and some moxie.

The arrow seems to be pointing up for the Browns (in the long haul), and down for the Bengals (overall), but it's only one week.

My fears about the Giants during the off-season were confirmed. I don't care if it's one game.....the o-line is still shaky. They can't run for shit and the pass protection is inconsistent.

This falls squarely on the GM. Reese did not upgrade the line, and he should be held accountable. His stubbornness will wreck our season.

Um being a Steelers fan I've heard this script several years and counting for the Browns(things pointing up).

Not a hater and I'll admit they finally may have a good qb prospect for the future.

Remember we've heard the same about Tim Couch, Jeff Garcia(brief tenure), Charlie Frye, Colt

Mc Coy, Branden Weeden, Brady Quinn. Just because they gave the Steelers a fight yesterday doesn't mean they are on the rise. They may revert back to the same shit in the next week or two. The Browns occasionally give the Steelers a fight and still suck ass over the course of a season. They have some defensive talent and a DC with a history of having good defenses but damn if you're drafting in the top 5 every year you figure your luck should change sometimes.

It's different with the Browns. I still say I won't believe until I see it.

Some fans have that tendency to overreact to week one in the NFL. The Bengals aren't as bad

as they showed yesterday but Andy Dalton can't keep throwing to the wrong jerseys. Even though

I think Tom Brady's skills will decline a little this season the Pats will still win 12 games if for no

other reason they play in the cake ass AFC East.

I hope Stephon Tuitt's biceps injury isn't season ending.

He could be the difference between the Steelers having a top 5 defense

and being in the middle of the pack. Dude is a beast.

I agree 100 % with that. Every year the Browns get least an A grade for their draft picks, but does not pan out. Ravens did rape the Bengals yesterday.

Yes they do. The one problem the Browns face is that some time down the road Kizer may want to leave for a team that has a better chance of going to the Super Bowl.

You didn't get what I was saying, but I was brief, so I'll expoud.

When i say the arrow is pointing up for the Browns, it's not about (another) close loss to the Steelers. They've been doing that at least every other year for 2 decades.

The arrow is pointing up because they seem to have a front office with a plan, amassing a lot of high picks, shedding bad contracts, and (mostly) working well with a good coaching staff. And their owner seems to be staying out of the way.

Although I'm a fan of Kizer's from his college days, I don't say that because of him alone. Chances are he'll flame out like the nearly 2 dozen signal-callers before him. But he has some upside, and if/when he flames out in '17, it only means they'll have picks to move up and pluck a QB out of a better '18 draft class.

The Cleveland franchise isn't sailing towards the iceberg anymore. That will make the team and division better.

I got your point exactly. I should have said every other draft the Browns fans seem to think they're on the way up. Lost in the graveyard of quarterbacks I failed to mention was Johnny Manziel. I still say as a Steelers fan I'm happy the Browns made the decision years ago to take Kellen Winslow Jr instead of Big Ben and select Joe Thomas instead of Adrian Petersen. Those 2 decisions haunt the franchise today.
