Logan (Marvel went all in for the Final Chapter)

....
Go BIG or Stay home......Logan was intense, thrilling, depressing and Oscar worthy. Hugh Jackman & Patrick Stewart deserve Oscars..Critics kept saying Marvel saved the Best for last but I had no idea they were gonna give it to us RAW...

My only complaint is that the Final Chapter picks up years after some Major Mutant catastrophe...The Viewers are only told bits and pieces of what happened but we're still left confused. The Viewers have to know what happened in the past in order to swallow the Final Chapter. Some Directors are AMAZING storytellers but it's hard to sell people on the Ending of a Saga if you skip over the middle..

You should not take a bathroom break during this film becuz you're gonna miss something. You have to see each scene to keep up...

I'm not gonna lie, Logan had a Bruh in his feelings......

I really liked Logan. It was a fitting end to the series. Or at least, it would be if Fox weren't intent on making more X-Men movies. IF this was the last movie in the X-Verse, it would have been the perfect ending. Admittedly, I'm not a big X-Men fan. The first two movies rank among my favourite superhero movies but the rest range between boring and outright terrible. Logan, on the other hand, is a great movie and a worthy successor to the first two movies.

On a slightly unrelated note, when it comes time for the inevitable reboot, whoever takes over from Hugh Jackman as Wolverine has one of the most difficult tasks in movie history ahead of him. Hugh Jackman IS Wolverine. Unless they really knock it out of the park, it will be seen as a huge step down.

I'm waiting for Marvel Studio to get the X-Men film rights back so the Marvel Cinematic Universe can FINALLY have its own version of Avengers VS. X-Men! cool

This is what all Wolverine movies should be like! Full out brutality with heart and lots of bone ripping claw action.

The pace was damn near perfect!

One issue I have and this is an indirect spoiler!

When Logan is looking at X23's file I noticed her blood type! I was all "Oh cool that will come in handy..." Nope... I wonder if that was considered but dropped?

I was debating this movie, not a fan of the Wolverine movies, or rather the one I did see, but I liked the earlier X-Men movies. I might risk it, maybe.

I dislike almost all the superhero movies of the past 17 years including all the x-men movies (they're so weak on the plots and emotional arcs of the characters, especially in the last 3rds)), but this was pretty good. It was very good.

I agree with everything you said about Hugh...

Storm is my Favorite X-Men...I want them to give the character a franchise so bad...The younger actress that is playing her is Great..I'd rather see Storm get her due than Wonder Woman..

.

Agree the movie is bitchin' AF!

.

Just when I thought Jackman had delivered his finest performance in the role (meaning 'Days of Future Past') along comes this OUT OF THE PARK home run.

.

I can't wait to see it again. And I haven't said that about a Wolverine solo movie before (though I did like a lot of things about the last one).

.

And I loved Stephen Merchant as Caliban too. And DAFNE KEEN --- holy shit, she was outstanding!

.

Kudos to James Mangold for finally delivering a stonecold Wolverine classic.

A solo Storm movie would be pretty cool and there's definitely potential there for a really good movie and not just a good "superhero movie". The problem I have with most of the X-Men movies is that when you have 6 or 7 main characters it's hard to tell a really good story while also giving each actor sufficient screen time. I think solo X-Men movies would be the best way to go with the series for the next few installments. Give some proper backstory that will allow the audience to actually care about the characters that aren't called Wolverine or Magneto.

This was never truer than in 'Apocalypse' --- what a bitter disappointment. The stuff involving Erik in Poland made me wish they had just done a Magneto solo film. That was GREAT stuff. But they introduced SO many new/side characters, it got out of hand.

Ah, really??? For my money, 'First Class' remains the series' finest hour.

.

Totally agree re: whoever takes over for Jackman having a near-impossible task... I HOPE that 20th Century Fox puts some time in between 'Logan' and any possible re-casting/re-booting. That said, I think they'll risk the character rights reverting to Marvel Studios if they go too long??? Isn't that what happened with Hulk (and why Paramount rushed into 'Amazing Spidey')?

First Class is my third favourite X-Men movie (excluding Logan) and no, it's not terrible but there were long stretches of the movie that, while not bad, weren't good either. It's an ok movie, I'd just never go out of my way to watch it again.

Regarding the next Wolverine, I think that they'll have to do something really different so as to avoid comparisons to Hugh Jackman. If another actor tries to do it the same way, it won't work. I think giving him his classic yellow suit would be a good start. As long as they don't make it silly, it could work.

Apocalypse
is proof that Magneto needed a Solo Franchise when the Great Michael Fassbender signed on years ago....The movie is 2hrs30min...It was not bad but they needed to do something different with The Ancient Mutant...His appearance, the recruitment of Mutants and everything was like BAM...Then again I'm hard on the entire franchise becuz they regulated Storm to wallflower status...Storm led the X-Men, became a Member of The Avengers and Fantastic Four......

I'm looking forward to seeing Black Panther. In the Comic Books Storm & Black Panther got married. I have not heard or read that Storm is gonna be in Panther's Solo franchise. Did Panther deserve a Franchise before Storm? He's a Cat with Claws...Storm IS Mother Nature, an OMEGA Mutant....

Keep in mind - Marvel Studios cannot use Storm in their movies. That character remains a 20th Century Fox property along with the rest of the X-Men characters.

Unfortunately Storm won't be appearing in any Avengers related movies until Marvel get the movie rights back but as much as I'd love to see a solo Storm movie, I'm more looking forward to Black Panther. Having not read any of the comics, he's a character I'm not too familiar with. My only exposure to him is from Captain America Civil War and it's his appearance in that movie that made me want to see more.

Haven't seen it. Will soon.

Anyone know, though, what the plans are for X-verse movies from hereon? I think I've heard talk of a New Mutants or X-Force project. confuse Does that sound right?
