Doctor Strange (2016) - A former neurosurgeon embarks on a journey of healing only to be drawn into the world of the mystic arts.

The trippy special effects stand out in this solid albeit very Marvel-formulaic movie. 3.5/5

wave Me too!!!

I give it star star star star /5

As some of you may recall, I've been pining for a Doctor Strange movie since they FIRST started coming out with good comic book movies.
This movie was very true to the comic book. The cape was fantastic. The character development was great. The special effects were excellent.

My only gripes; 1) casting of Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One. I mean, her performance was great, but come on now... Was Jet Li too expensive? 2) the portrayal and dismissal of Dormammu. Seriously, he's a heavyweight in the Doctor Strange universe and not only does he come across as some easily-conned buffoon, but then we're led to believe that he's suddenly no longer a threat to the Earth?

Anyway...I'm glad to have seen it in 3-D and I'd gladly pay to see it again. nod

Jet Li probably WAS too expensive smile
I remember reading an interview he did around the time of the expendables 3 where he was saying he was scaling back on doing American movies so even if he was asked, he might have turned it down. For someone like me who isn't familiar with the comic books, Tilda Swinton was fine. She scares me a bit though...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005) Out of the prequels, for me this was the best one in terms of the storyline, and it got me at the end sad especially when Anakin turned to the dark side and became Darth Vadar. Those emotional scenes with Padmé and Obi-Wan Kenobi where he reject them etc, that really took me by surprise.....and I'm quite a cynic. I give it a 4 out of 5 yoda
