If anybody cares... Please wish me a happy birthday. I am so depressed. No one remembered; not my friends, my brother, no one. And this is a milestone birthday for me. I'm 66 and survived major brain surgery in March. It hurts...

Happy Birthday Charlie Griffin!! My own birthday is coming up and i will wish that u find peace and find happiness in something. There is always something Charlie Griffin. Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. If I can help U a bit on this. We/You have to learn how to celebrate life by yourself. and see people being involved as an additive. the Nostalgia about it all is wonderful. . By a small birthday cake, if you have good health, get the good kind, the real sugary frosting, with your favorite colored frosting decorations. Buy a # candle, buy or cook your favorite meal, set the table with the best dinnerwear, play your favorite music, get a favorite movie(s) ready, dress nice, go for a ride to your get away spot, buy a gift for yourself and be happy. Make it a tradition. (Do the same for holidays) you'll look forward to these special days and moment. And then spread the joy. And other people cannot affect the joy of these times. As it turned out, I had a great day on Sunday, July 17, the day after my birthday. Two of my girlfriends, whom I have known since our college days, treated me to a brunch and a jazz set at a Mexican restaurant in downtown DC. I had a great time! The food was good, the music was fantstic, and the company was just what I needed. The jazz singer and her backup even sang Happy Birthday to me and the whole retaurant joined in. I got misty eyed, I was so touched.
Again, thank you bunches. You all are so kind. | |

Once again, to all my Org fams, THANKS A BUNCH! You all are so very special to me. Oh, and by the way, my screen name is deceiving, I am female and used to be known by "Shyra," which is not my real name either, but I liked it and chose it. I used to be Charlie Griffin back in the day at NPG. Anyway, Charlie Griffin was the name of a cat that I adored. He died at age 16 back in 1997. I still miss him... I got the name "Griffin" from one of my favorite movies staring Peter Falk. It was "Griffin and Phoenix." The ending of that movie knocked me out. If you get a chance, rent the DVD. It's a tearjerker. | |
