Ten Years Later... Its been ten years since I last signed on here! After what happened yesterday I went on and on for hours about threads and posts from prince.org, and people thinking I was a nut.
Is anyone still around from '05 or '06 Jersey / 2the9s????? |

Yaass! It would be nice to talk to the old crew again!
Had so many funny convos here and met so many great people. I was a lurker from 16 to 17 then signed up at 18 to 19 but after a year kinda drifted away because of college and work! |

Theres a lot of talk about the org, maybe there will be a comeback for a bit. Though they might be like me, stumbling around like a noob because its been so long.  I'm feelin kind of n-a-s-t-y

Hey guys. I think of you old timers quite a lot.
I hope everyone is holding up ok?
I'm finding that I'm far more shaken and emotional than I thought I would be. I immediately thought about my old friends here when the news broke. When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading. |

True, true. I hastilly pulled 2014 from my profile. Now that I'm actually using my brain, I think I've been around as a regular since about 2001, and prior to that I was an on/off subscribver to the mailing lists that eventually became the Org.

It has been quite a while since I have posted on the org. When I first heard of Prince's passing, I first thought of the org and TAME! I can't even imagine how she is taking the news.

Hi all, I used to post loads around 2001-2003. Does anyone remember that time we did an invasion of the okayplayer forums? That and fake tracklists are the first org memories that come to mind. Apart from Prince, obvs. |

THESE ARE MY THOUGHTS OF THE LAST THREE DAYS
i couldn't have envisioned the turns this week would take.
i ain't one to have idols and don't really even know the people
that folks call stars... (i watch movies and folks talk about so n so
and i have no idea who they speakin of)
but yeah, i could tell you i felt shit comin and if you don't
know me, you'd just have my word... for a few days i been 'off' about some shit and focusin on where the shit was comin from.
now, though i'm truly sad about Prince's demise i have some relief.
this is a grief i can handle, it changes my world only a small bit.
sometimes it's the small bits one on top of the other that unbalance even the most balanced... (and i ain't him)
while i got the trifecta
the thought, the time, and the opportunity....
this been a hell of a year for 'star gazers'
(them folks that feel like celebrities are like family)
believe me, i too have had stars in my eyes, and
they were family... BUT THIS YEAR
this year you had david bowie kick
and you can say you wasn't into him but he was iconic
in the way that can't nobody from them days hear
"this is ground control to major tom" and don't start at least
hummin it...
the thing is there was "Maurice White -- Dead at 74" and now
Prince Dead at 57.... these are two of the most powerful
musicians that ever was in the industry...
look at the messages EWF put out here since they came out.
i was lucky to have been around them back in '67
they were rehearsin "the fool on the hill" and it was amazin.
i'm sayin if you came up in the 60s/70s ewf in you playlist for a hunnit different reasons...
as for Prince, you may not have liked the dude or all his music
however you know his shit and liked a lot of shit he did.
back in the eighties mufukkkas couldn't stand prince and had him fukkked up (as well as mj)... but you danced to they music
even if you ain't hear what they was sayin in a song...
all this in just this year....
some folks don't recognize when they lost somethin irreplaceable...

i get up er mornin and cut on
ktla-5 pseudo news to hear about the weather
and whatever they wanna put out there for the
news. but last night i saw that vh-1 was playin
prince movie...
(i just cut the tv off and went to sleep)
well of course when i cut the tv on 'purple rain' was
still playin and AND it was at the point when the time walk past
the dressin room door, you know
"let's get craaaaazyyyyy... let's get nuuuuu-uuuuuts...."
and of course this is when he play "purple rain"....
i have seen the movie a fair amount of times HOWEVER
just like the first time i saw the movie, this mornin i shed a tear.
just one...
it's funny all the memories that can come from one tear.
i remember my grand mother explainin "the alligator tear" to me.
(of course there was some programin bein done)
and the alligator tear was suppose to be somethin you
popped up to get out of an ass whoopin....
but back to the subject at hand.
and yeah, it created a bit of confusion in me, the tear,
just as it did back then...
THE DIFFERENCE IS....
now that i'm 60 i can blame it on me age...
like as much as i love me sleep, it causes me to get
a tear at its leavin...
now you know all this what i wrote is true cause i put it
on facebook....
