An interesting post.

What don't you like about Bale's Batman? I thought he brought gravitas to it. Keaton was pretty
good but Bale was Shakespearean, in my opinion. I agree: the Dark Knight may be a bit over-
rated. But it plays just like a serious cop-drama, except that the protagonist and antagonist wear
costumes. Ledger's Joke could be considered just too much - remember that scene when he
enters into Harvey Dent's medical room and he does all that lip smacking? And then that weird
gait as he exits the hospital before detonating it? Just too much acting. I agree with the notion
that the Two-Face character reveal was rushed.

But oh my god! The Dark Knight Rises, yeah, it has plot holes, but I don't get that as a criticism:
it's a movie! It's not real life! If viewers want something real, go watch a documentary! Pointing
out that TDKR has plot holes means you should point out that a billionaire posing as a borderline
sociopath wearing a bat suit is ludicrous. Sometimes, there are events and circumstances in life
that have no clear explanation, so I don't get too wrapped up in plot holes.

My favorite Nolan movie is The Prestige. I refuse to watch Inception or Interstellar. I don't want
to watch the former because I have great disdain for psychological movies. And I don't want to
watch Interstellar because I don't want to cry like a wimp.

It's not that I don't like Bale's Batman, I just think he was only Ok. Nothing more. The lisp puts me off, maybe smile This is not Christian Bale's fault, but I don't like his Batmobile or his costume. I do think Heath Ledger over acted a lot in The Dark Knight. My issues with the Dark Knight Rises goes way beyond the many plot holes. Most movies have moments where you need to suspend any disbelief but not to the same degree as DKR. As I said though, my issues with that movie go beyond that. Aside from the first fight scene between Batman and Bane, the movie was so boring. There was no need to shoehorn Catwoman into it. She just took up screen time. Having Bane as the big villain in the closing film of the trilogy felt like an anti climax. I don't know if they planned on having Joker in it and then plans changed after Heath Ledger died, but closing out an "epic" trilogy with a B list villain just felt wrong. They might as well have had Clayface or Solomon Grundy. I could go on but if you enjoy the movie, then I don't want to ruin it for you or make you feel bad for liking it. We all have our own tastes and Dark Knight Rises is just not for me. The Prestige is brilliant. I also really like Memento. Inception is good. Some amazing visuals in it and a good story. I didn't like Interstellar though. I had such high hopes for it and it was really disappointing.

Besides "Batman Begins", I think I like "Inception" best (it's not a "psychological movie"...), need to revisit "Memento". I think the issue with TDKR is mostly that it is way too "Hollywood". The annoying twist at the end, having a nuclear bomb as the main thread that very conveniently shows when it will detonate through a digital clock, the chase at the end, the crappy "villians gives important information right before she dies", Batman and Catwoman kiss... And you can't help but laugh at Bale's "WHERE IS THE TRIGGER, WHERE IS IT????? YOU NEVER GAVE IT TO AN ORDINARY CITIZEN!!!" voice. And Miranda Tates motivation for the whole plot is very nonsensical... Well, I hated my father, but then you killed him, now I want to complete his plan. There's actually a lot wrong with the movie... lol neutral

Hey loudmouth, shut the fuck up, right?
