American comedian Garry Shandling has died suddenly, aged 66.

The Larry Sanders Show star fell ill on Thursday (24Mar16), according to TMZ.com, and was taken to a Los Angeles-area hospital, where he died unexpectedly.

A source close to Shandling insists he appeared to be in the best of health hours before his death.

Wasn't that the episode where he kept telling Jerry how unwell he was and they had a little counter on the screen keeping score of how much times he complained?

I used to watch his show as a kid and even remember the theme song, "This is the Garry Shandling show, the Gary Shandling show, Gary called me up and asked me if I'd write his theme song.... I'm almost halfway finished, how do ya like it so far? ..... This is the theme to Garry Shandling's show!" ........ Loved that show! R.I.P. Gary sad

Katt Williams needs to clean up and realize he could be like Shandling. Very sad. People are dying left and right. 2016 is a bummer.

Go get regular checkups people. Heart disease is as American as...heart breaks.

--- We used to watch the Gary Shandling show all the time and would laugh our heads off. It was so funny. One the best shows ever. I actually hadn't thought of it in a while. I'd love to watch some old reruns. RIP Gary. Loved Larry Sanders show too.

Katt Williams always does and says weird stuff around the same time that he goes on tours. So, since he's touring now that's why he's doing/saying weird stuff....

I watched that episode again. Very sad when you see it now and think he died not long after.
I always knew he was a comedian but if I'm being honest, I mostly knew him as "the guy who stabs Tony Stark with the pin in Iron Man 2". After seeing him on Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, I searched out some of his stuff. The Larry Sanders show is brilliant. I was thinking if they'd ever bring it back and then I heard he had died. sad

Most touching for me is when Garry and Jerry walk out of the restaurant and they just put their arms around each other like the dear old friends they really were. Jerry Seinfeld must be broken up about it, he has yet to write a tweet about it.
