I agree. Where is the fun, adventure, the urgency and humor? Finn always looks terrified and sweaty and Rey is crying. It is such a somber, heavy handed, self important trailer. The whole thing was designed around, "Hey, its Star Wars. Isn't that enough?"

The New Hope trailer gets it right.

Even the Revenge of the Sith trailer struck the right balance between drama and adventure.

I will have to respectfully disagree. I can't remember the last time a trailer got me this excited - and a couple of people I watched it with who hadn't been interested in seeing Episode VII at the cinema wanted to book tickets as soon as it had finished.

That's nostalgia. Take out the music, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Princess Leia, the Falcon, tie fighters, xwing fighters, light sabers, star destroyers, and stormtroopers and see if you're still excited.

Remember when everyone was excited about this? And what they got was somber, absentee dad who stalks his exgirlfriend. Nostalgia.

Here I am on the Org...and it's all buzzin' about the new Star Wars! It's like the past ten years just melted away! Good to see Neversin, RodeoSchro and some of the old guard still holding things down for us ancient folks from back in the day!

You should totally engineer a Star Trek thread so that you can re use that joke to maximum effect.

It was pretty good though.

Star Trek AND Life of Brian quotes in a Star Wars thread? Y'all are awesome!!! (and yes, I love Trek too. I've never understood the whole "rivallry" thing between fans of various franchises. I enjoy 'em all!)

Yes...the Org is a bit like Dagobah in spots, eh? Careful where you step...some of the waters contain rather large monsters that can swallow a droid whole!
