No, it's not 100% flat. It's only flat when looking straight ahead. The curvature of the Earth would NEVER be shown in a 2-D picture by looking straight ahead. It would only be shown on a wide shot. Except your bottom picture. It clearly shows the curvature of the Earth. Look at the left and right edges of your picture and you can see with 100% certainty that the water line is lower relative to the red line than it is in the middle.

Holy crap. I never looked that closely before. You're right. That bottom image is evidence for curvature not against it. Just like the clip with the towers appearing out of the ocean.

Actually, despite the presented flat earth model uttely and absoulutely failing on many levels, that's not completely of them.

I've not looked into how seasons are explained but accoring to the model the sun is 3000 miles above the earth and circles paralel to the earth's plane. Therefore the area that is directly below the (32 mile diameter heat lamp) sun is 3000 miles from the heat source but move out towards to the edge or the middle (either "pole" and you'd be considerbly more distant than 3000 miles from the sun.

Now the seasons. Presumably the proponents of the model claim that the sun centers above the flat circle that we think of as the equator but the sun's circle expands and shrinks over the year so that in the northern hemispehere summer it slowly shrinks until it's directly above the northern tropic of cancer at the summer solstice and then slowly widens again until it's over the equator at the equinox and then eventually cuts a large circle directly above the southern tropic of capricorn at the northern winter soltice.

This would therefore mean that the speed the sun moves at is far greater during the southern summer than the northern summer as despite the much larger journey it takes to complete a circle it still takes just 24 hours.

However even this rationalisation collapses under it's own weight when you consider that the far north polar regions are always much colder than New Zealand despite the model meaning that the sun in June is much closer to the north pole than it is to New Zealand. I've been in shorts and a t shirt for much of the NZ winter, something unthinkable in an arctic summer.

Where is Funkcreep? Don't tell me he proved us all wrong and walked off the end of the Earth!!!

Why would he acknowledge such blatant proof as that or the commercial passenger flights that would be impossible on his map (that he was going to investigate) when he can retreat to supposed evidence like lighthouses and mountains that rely on maths that are apparently way above his education level, yet he somehow fully agrees with?

I actually feel sorry for him. Means nothing to me me if the earth is round, flat or a frickin rhombus. I'll just go where the evidence leads (global) but to Funkcreep his entire salvation beleif relies on this nonsense so I can see why he's so motivated and desparate to hold on to it.
