So what did we think of Dave Letterman's final show? I thought it started off slow and even a bit somber. The crowd seemed to be clapping appreciatively rather than laughing at Dave's jokes. There was a real feeling of "This is the last time." But the Top Ten with all the friends of Dave brought the show up again. Especially funny was Seinfeld, Rock, Louis-Dreyfus, Carrey and Fey. I thought it was just going to be an hour so it was especially good that it went long. Dave showed the best bits (Taco Bell) and NBC actually allowed some of the old show to be shown! Classy ending with Foo Fighters and the CBS Orchestra playing an extra long outro. Dave was, is and always will be the King.

It was cute! Lots of fun, lots of jokes. It wasn't a sappy sobfest. Lots of intentionally outdated humor from his early days and inside jokes from over the years. I'll miss him.

I watched him religiously early in his shows career, it was so good. The latter half I stopped watching it. He had a cool run, I didn't watch it lastnight [Edited 5/22/15 10:00am]

It was worth it just to see the Taco Bell skit again. That still is a work of art. The Most Important Thing In Life Is Sincerity....Once You Can Fake That, You Can Fake Anything.

You can watch it online.
I loved it, it made me sad...but I thought it was a perfect ending for him.

Didn't watch it...
Stop watching Letterman after he jumped to CBS; I hope Dave enjoys retirement.

Enjoyed it very much. I grew up with the guy. Perhaps the greatest, quirkiest comedic mind in American TV history.
Thought I would get too sentimental at the end, but when he held it together, so did I. === [Edited 5/23/15 20:54pm]

It used to be on tv in Holland too, but not any more. Guess there weren't enough viewers and the Dutch don't find American humour funny.(I did.) So I missed it, but that's okay. I did see the most important part on youtube: the Dylan performance the day before.

CBS will probably re-show it just before Stephen Colbert takes over in September.

Yeah, I thought that was a nice choice of song: "The Night We Called It A Day". Heh-heh.
