patchouli oil, love it or hate it ?

I remember when you went to see bands in the sixties and seventies there was always that lovely

smell of patchouli oil, i never had any at the time but i recently bought some just to bring back a few

memories of those days when gigs and certain pubs used to reek of the stuff but reading about it i

discovered that although some peple love it there are loads of people who actually can't stand it,i have

gone out with some on but not too much as i dont want to upset anyone on the bus that might not like it.any views and memories of patchouli oil on here ?

I don't use it myself but I don't mind it, reminds me of when I was little & all the house party's.
Ylang Ylang is my long time favorite, love that smell. biggrin

A room with a smell of patchouli oil is also a room where the weed dealings are taking place. True OR False?!? hmmm

I highly doubt there's any fragrance you can ever find that won't irritate someone one. There are those that can't stand vanilla. Never been in a situation where someone doesn't complain they can't stand somebody else's fragrance even though they may wear a ton of their own. So you've got a personal choice to make, wear what you like in moderation of course, you're not trying to kill people who have legitimate allergies. Or don't wear anything then everyone but you are happy.

I love it and occasionally wear a small dab of it. That's absolutely all you need, otherwise it can definitely be easily overpowering.

As I wasn't around in the '60s, the scent of patchouli sends me back to the days of undergrad -- early '90s -- especially in combination with traces of (other folks') marijuana and peppermint-scented Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap. smile

Take a bath, hippie!

I like it, but I think like most smells oils scents and such it depends on how it is interpreted through the body of the person wearing it. I've smelt it on people walking by and could swear it must be a top of the line store bought oil. And others it just smells like too much Patchouli
