Sorry to see the Jets get swept. I personally hate the Ducks, and was really rootin' for your team. It was nice to finally see Winnipeg get into "The Dance" after so long! And how ironic is it that the year after Teemu Selanne retires, its the Ducks and Jets in the first round? Hes gotta laugh about that, I know I would.

Yeah, but the Hockey News predicted that the Jets would win Stanley in 2019, so here's hoping. smile

That doesnt shock me. The Jets have a really good team, and an even better core of guys that'll be there when they really start to get better and become one of the elite teams of the league. If Dustin Byfuglien did the right thing and played disciplined Hockey instead of letting his emotions get the best of him (and in turn, getting in trouble with the league because of it, and not being suspended for crucial games when the team NEEDS him), he could potentially be a Norris Trophy winner many times over. His gifted ability to play not only D but also a Forward as well at the drop of a hat seemingly is a rarity, and I really hope he picks up the pace on maturing his game. Other than that, you also got rid of that numbskull Evander Kane (and probable locker room cancer) and received a great package from the Sabres in return. If this team is managed right and all the players buy into the system, the Jets are going to be a force for quite a while and will terrorize the league.

see what i'm saying about the Wings?! and i only fucks with them from afar. and this is exactly why. overachieve, get hopes up, blow opportunities to show themselves and others that the "overachieving" is the REAL them, then they crash back to earth/reality with a sickening thud and you're mad that you ever allowed them to get your hopes up in the first place

I know I know. But the awesome thing about the Wings is that they were able to keep their playoff streak going another year to 22 (!!!!!!) 22 consecutive years they've managed to reach the postseason. Lol let that sink in for a moment. That aint no small feat bro! So while yeah, they eventually broke down in 7 to an all-around superior team (even though Detroit dominated most of the series like I said in an earlier post), the fact the Wings even made it at all is amazing. I mean, you gotta remember: The Wings were also limping into the playoffs too. Lotta of injuries to key players, and Mike Babcock spotted their strengths and weaknesses and still found a way to make it. Thats just remarkable.

.

And while your team has sadly been eliminated, I do really hope you continue to watch the rest of the playoffs. THIS is when it gets really crazy! Nice chatting with you friend, please drop in here when you can!

And Chicago was sure to bring their brooms to MN as they did away with the Wild in 4 games straight! Couldnt believe it. I def thought the Hawks were going to win the series, but in 6 or 7. Not a sweep! Shame to see Roszival go down with that ankle injury (Did you see it? It was brutal!). Chicago looks downright terrifying, and whomever wins between Anaheim/Calgary certainly have their work cut out for them next round!

Eastern Conference Finals

Game 1

Tampa Bay Lightning 1 New York Rangers 2

Dominic Moore scored with 2:25 to play, the defense limited Tampa Bay's high-powered offense, and the Rangers defeated goaltender Ben Bishop and the Lightning 2-1 on Saturday to move within three wins of returning to the Stanley Cup Final.

The game-winning goal came just 30 seconds after Moore stepped out of the penalty box, and it capped another nail-biter for the Rangers, who have played 15 consecutive one-goal games in the postseason.

NY Rangers lead series 1-0.

Western Conference Finals

Game 1

Chicago Blackhawks 1 Anaheim Ducks 4

Hampus Lindholm, Nate Thompson and Jakob Silfverberg each had a goal and an assist, and the Ducks beat the Blackhawks 4-1 in Game 1 on Sunday. Duck goaltender Frederik Andersen made 32 saves in this game.

Western Conference Finals

Game 4

Anaheim Ducks 4 Chicago Blackhawks 5 F/2OT

After a very defensive first two periods in which each team could muster only one goal apiece, the third period saw an explosion in offense as Jonathan Toews and Brent Seabrook scored goals in the opening 7:38 of the third period to put the Blackhawks ahead 3-1. But the fun was just starting. The Ducks responded with three goals in 37 seconds. Ryan Kesler scored at 8:42. Matt Beleskey scored 23 seconds later. Corey Perry scored 14 seconds after that and the Ducks went ahead 4-3. The Blackhawks weren’t done. They responded with a power-play goal by Patrick Kane at 12:39 to tie the game 4-4.

Then after aother defensive overtime period in which both goaltenders played brilliantly,

Antoine Vermette scored at 5:37 of the second overtime to give the Blackhawks the victory. Vermette, left out of the lineup Thursday night in Chicago's 2-1 loss in Game 3, was stopped on his first try in front, but stayed with the rebound and shot it over Ducks goaltender Frederik Andersen for his second goal of playoffs. He then skated over to the corner and was mobbed by his teammates as the season-high crowd of 22,404 cheered wildly.

Series tied at 2-2.

Tampa Bay Lightning are one win away from the Stanley Cup Finals with a 2-0 win over the New York Rangers. They lead the series 3 games to 2. I still think the Rangers are going to pull through although it will take 7 games now if they do.

After a scoreless first period, the Blackhawks explode in the second period on three goals fropm Brandon Saad, Marion Hossa, and Patrick Kane to grab a 3-0 lead. But Anaheim would come back with a power play from Patrick Maroon shortly afterward and would make it a one-goal deficit early in the third period from Clayton Stoner.

Western Conference Finals

Game 7

Chicago Blackhawks 5 Anaheim Ducks 3

The Anaheim Ducks were hoping home ice would give them a decided advantage in this decisive closeout game, but the Chicago Blackhawks took control of this game early and never trailed. Jonathan Toews scored two early goals in the first period, and Brandon Saad and Marion Hossa would each score a goal to extend the lead to 4-0. The Ducks would finally get on the board on a 4 on 4 power play goal late in that period.

The Ducks would try to rally in the third period when Corey Perry scored a goal with 9:24 remaining. But the Hawks would seal the victory on a Brent Seabrook power play goal with a little over seven and a half minutes remaining in the game. The Ducks would add a goal with 41 seconds remaining, but it was too little too late, as the Blackhawks now move on to face the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Stanley Cup Final and attempt to win their third title in six years.

Chicago wins series 4-3. woot! excited highfive dancing jig party clapping boogie

Series tied 2-2, with game 5 tonight in Tampa! Who do y'all got? The resiliency and back bone of the Blackhawks is undisputed, and they DO seem to play their best with their backs against the wall. Expect an unrelenting, defensive-minded game from Chicago tonight, with a possible Toews-Kane pairing if the urgency is truly there.

.

Tampa Bay's bread and butter is their speed. A team consisting of mostly youngsters, their youth and uptempo style of play has given the Blackhawks multiple fits in the previous 4 games, and will no doubt continue to stir up some dust again tonight. Chicago's counter-attack to the Bolts' speed has been their flawless forechecking. If the Lightning can somehow avoid the big bodies of Chicago's defense and continue to infiltrate Chicago's zone somehow someway while constantly shooting pucks at Corey Crawford (as Tampa Bay has some of the NHL's finest snipers on their squad), expect this game to get ugly very quickly. But on the flip side, the Bolts' starting goaltender Ben Bishop has been ruled as questionable for tonight's game, and it's a very real possibility Tampa starts their back-up which will be sweet music to the Blackhawks' ears.

.

From my perspective, this series can go either way. Tampa has put up much more of a fight than I anticipated (as well as many others), and what was expected to be an uneven series at best has become MUST-SEE TV for any true sports fan. While my gut still thinks the Hawks take home the cup once again, I wont be shocked to see it go to 7 games and Steven Stamkos lifting Lord Stanley when all is said and done. This my friends...is hockey at it's finest. An absolutely riveting series, and an epic way to close off the 2014-15 season.

Game 5 ended up with a 2-1 win for the Chicago Blackhawks. "He who wins Game 5 usually wins the series." And Chicago is heading back to the Madhouse on Monday night.
