Mayweather vs. Pacquiao

It looks like on May 2, 2015, these two ding dongs will finally be getting it on. Half of me said
that Mayweather was ducking Pacquiao while the other half of me says Mayweather's disdain
for Bob Arum was the cause for this prolonged delay.

But, this will be the biggest fighting event of my life. I kinda wish ABC Sports would telecast it
live like they used to do back in the day when boxing was America's favorite sport.

I personally have no horse in this race but would love to see a knockout, obviously. I think May-
weather's defense is pretty much impregnable; but he hasn't faced anyone with Pac-Man's speed
or power in a very long time.

NBC and CBS will be airing live boxing starting next month. So maybe the rematch will be on regular TV.

I expect Mayweather to win by 12 round UD, he's the king of in the ring adjustments, Pacman's style isn't that complicated.

This fight is happening 10 years too late but it's still going to be the biggest pay-per-view telecast ever.

I think Mayweather will win by knockout.

Mayweather hasn't knocked anyone out in years, dude! He has no punching power. If he's
victorious against Pacquiao, it'll be by unanimous decision instead. If there is a knockout involved,
most likely it'll be Mayweather eating canvas from a punch he didn't see coming.

I haven't been this excited for a match since De La Hoya vs. Trinidad.

I know but all I can envision is Pacquiao stepping into Marquez's punch.

Mayweather is very beatable and has been for years. The way to beat him is to Tyson-rush his ass. He has no power. If Pacman pulls that strategy, he'll win. Canello would have won had he used this strategy.

Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Maidana tried that (twice) and it didn't work. Mayweather can adjust.

Can't wait for the fight.

This will be a fight for the ages but I just have to decide if it's worth dishing out nearly $100 for a boxing match that might be a bunch of jogging around the first few rounds before a split second knockout.

Trolls be gone!

If you don't order it, someone you know will get it. Go to their house, bring a pack of beer and enjoy.

If Pacquiao did that he'd be walking right into a check hook, similar to what Floyd did to Ricky Hatton and also what Marquez did to Pacquiao.

The only type of fighter who can pull that off is one who is defensively responsible and that ain't Pacquiao, he leaves himself open to way too many counters, especially straight right hands.

He may not have one punch KO power but trust and believe he has enough to get Pacquiao's respect.

Also Pacquiao's puching power at 147 ain't that great either, his last legit KO at full blown Welterweight was against Ricky Hatton, the same man Floyd's last legit KO was against also BTW.

Yeah Delohoya - Trinidad was a big deal, I figured it would be a good back and forth matchup, of course that's not the way it went down though.

It's never too late, especially when both are still the best at their weight class. Would it have been better in 2009-2010, of course. But it didn't happen.

I thought Mayweather was getting 60% of the pot?

And I'm not sure I wanna pay one hundred duckets for this fight either; there are websites
available that will broadcast it as well.

lol

My only interest in this is Pacquiao winning. Mayweather has always gotten on my last nearve.

The PPV on this is nuts. Honestly, I haven't paid for a PPV event since Tyson was still boxing and I don't see paying for one happening again in the future. If people are down for it, cool, whatever frosts your pickle. But my Comcast bill is already massive, I'm not paying an EXTRA $100 to sit in front of my TV. I didn't even buy NBA Leage Pass this year because there's more than enough games on broadcast television now. I can go out to a nice dinner and a movie for a hundred bucks, buy some clothes, some GROCERIES, PAY BILLS! lol More power to the promoters, cable companies and participants, though. Free market society and all that.

Exactly...it's much cheaper to just go to a sportsbar a few hours early for dinner (before they start charging a cover charge for the fight) and then just stay to watch the fight for free! That's my plan. biggrin
