Way to go Pete Carroll - instead of pounding Marshall Lynch you decide to throw inside the five yard line. Dumbass call.....these coaches always outsmart themselves trying to be cute, and it burns them every time.

After that miraculous catch that literally put the game in their hands, all he had to do was run Lynch.

If I owned the Seahawks Carroll's ass would have been fired before he left the field.

I was shocked they decided to throw the ball in that situation. Better luck next year

Carroll cemented himself as the most boneheaded coach in sb history. Give the ball to lynch!!! What happened to cheaters never win?
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Well, I'll be damned....my homegirl is back!

Football's over, so now the focus switches to the NBA (and NCAA in March). Unfortunately, both the Knicks and Celtics are in rebuildinbg mode.

I only came back for the football thread!!

I am so over the moon and elated over this win....there was a LOT of money lost last night!!!

Proud Patriot's fan tried and true!

With that being said, (I have to be a little cocky)....it was an excellent game. Both teams played extremely well and there were so few penalties. I know the feeling of losing the Super Bowl far too well and I'm so glad I don't have to feel that again this year.

Seahawk fans, sorry for your loss, but you needed a big ol' piece of humble pie!

It seems only ONE team can beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl - just sayin'. biggrin

If the Giants can get an O-line, a pass rush and a healthy Victor Cruz..........

We were a different team this year....with a healthy Gronk and Edleman stepping up...hard to stop.

Also our defense this year has been better than ever. The past few weeks we all kept hearing about how good Seattles defense was...ours was greatly underestimated. Could the Seahawks have won if they didn't throw the ball? Maybe. But we also could have held them to a field goal which wouldn't have been enough. But that Lynch....good Lord he is a strong player.

I would love to match up with the Giants again. Tom said he still has a lot of football years left, and now that the Gisele curse has finally been lifted...I believe in him!!!

As for the Celtics....they have a long way to go. I'm more of a hockey fan but I watch the NBA finals because they are exciting. I don't have the time to watch all of the games, there are just so many.

Ahhhh I am still basking in this winning glow!!!

But now I have to go shovel....

That can't be true - you don't do shit like that in a Super Bowl with so much on the line.

Two...this years Cowboys team would have stomped them. If they didn't get robbed in GB, they would have beaten the lackluster performance in Seattle by the seahawks. They have already beaten them once this year. Cowboys vs Pat? No brainer. This year's version of Romo, Murray and Bryant were made for the big show. They were derailed by officials. That's why I was so pissed when they were shafted...a SB was taken away from the 'boys. Rant over. disbelief bawl doh!

I get annoyed each year by the ''anti football'' people. Some football fans can be annoying as hell. But a lot of us are pretty chill and just love the game (or play it) and every year i gotta read these ''har har sports are dumb har i'd rather do something meaningful and deep and wonder than watching football'' rolleyes you're not special lol

That stupid 1 yard play ruined what was a great game.

It would of been an epic ending otherwise and who knows WTF the coach was thinking? Are there stats for 1 yard plays that say that play worked well?

As for Katy Perry? Predictable, safe, knowingly cheesy (which is cute I guess). I liked the massive whateveritwas she was riding. But Missy outdanced her and then some LOL.

I hate her full throttled singing/shouting, so "Firework" grated on me. It's one of her worst singles easily. Ugh.

I was 100% rooting for the Patriots from the second we knew which two teams would be playing, so for me that play didn't come anywhere near ruining what was, without a doubt, a GREAT game. It might be the best Super Bowl I can remember seeing, and that's at least 30 of them. Hard to say that as a Niners fan, though, because those were some really special games. But objectively, the Niners winning by 30, or whatever it was, wasn't actually a better game, just more personally rewarding. Anyway, I'm digressing here a bit, all I'm saying is that for me that goal line play made a great game even better, because it wouldn't have meant as much to me if the Pats had lost.

Lynch was succesful 86% of the time on 3rd or 4th and one yard to go running plays this season. When they ran that one yard pass play it was still second down. That means they had THREE DOWNS to run a play that was succesful for them 86% of the time this season. .... you do the math. lol

HOLD UP, wait a minute! Please explain to me why Malcolm Butler wasn't called for pass interference? He got there a split second before the ball and knocked the receiver down on his way to making the catch. Sure, both players have a right to the ball, but Malcolm needs to make that play WITHOUT touching the receiver BEFORE the ball gets to them.

I'm blowing a late whistle.

Brady backs into a victory, again.

Technically, unless you use slo-mo, he got there at the same time as the ball, and that's legal. I mean really, there was at least ten pass interferance infractions worse than that one that were not called during the game. They'll never call something that close when it could decide the game.
