Peyton looked bad - his o-line didn't help either. They're not beating the Pats. Sorry Steeler fans, I don't think Pittsburgh can either.

Anyone see that Marshawn Lynch run the other night? Man against boys. Seahawks are looking badass!

Watch out for my G-Men next season if we fix the o-line and Cruz comes back healthy to pair with ODB!

hmmm But then again the Steelers seem to lose to teams with losing records

The key to slowing down great QBs is getting a pass rush with the front four. That's how the Giants beat Brady twice, and how the Seahawks crushed Peyton. You blitz Brady with a LB or safety, he'll hit Gronk all night long.

I would think most reasonable Steeler fans will acknowledge there is no

way in hell they would beat the Pats or Broncos with that patchwork secondary. When you say Willie Gay is your best CB that says a lot about your secondary. The guy plays hard but he just isn't good enough against elite wideouts. Both of the cb's the Steelers started the season with Ike Taylor and Cortez Allen aren't starting anymore. They have been demoted or out due to injury. The Steelers best defense is their offense by running Bell and controlling the clock and applying pressure on the qb with the front seven.

Steelers win the AFC North. Though it would have been easier to go Indy then to Denver I think.

I skipped this season of the NFL. That being said...

I'm glad the Bears Organzation has enough sense to fire Emery & Trestman. The next thing the Bears need to do release sorry ass Cutler....

Let me be the first to say: I was completely wrong about Johnny Manziel. I thought he could play in the NFL and physically, maybe he can. But mentally he is 3 years old and is the very definition of "cancer in the locker room". Ouch.

Hat's off to the Texans for coming within 11 Cleveland Browns points of making the playoffs - with their fourth quarterback, a guy signed off someone else's practice squad. If the Texans can get a halfway-decent QB, their future looks bright. I'm rooting for Ryan Mallett to be the guy. Although...although...there's a rumor that Peyton Manning is retiring. There's about a 0.01% chance he retires, then unretires with the Texans next year. But a guy can hope!

I will never get tired of watching Tom Brady throw passes.

The Bears were the biggest train wreck ever - except for the New York Jets. I am glad Rex Ryan got fired, because he's an a-hole. But I'm sad he got fired, because it was so much fun laughing at him. Go Giants!

Oh, and a big congrats to the Dallas Cowboys. Love them or hate them, the NFL is more fun to watch when they are good. And they are GOOD.

I can't remember if I was listening to my local radio sports channel (670-AM Chicago) or ESPEN (1000- Chicago). A former player made a great point, collage football programs aren't running NFL type offensive anymore. Yes, the college game aren't as complex as the NFL but they were based on NFL playbooks. QB's didn't face such a steep learning curve because most of the guys that had emerged (like Brady) where familiar with the basic fundimentals of NFL playbook.

All this hoop-la about high scoring offensive schemes being the future of the NFL was just that, hooey.
You look at the last class of QB - noted exceptions of Andrew Luck & Russell Willson- and you realize they are the exceptions. People are asking players who don't have a shred of experience in running a NFL offense to step-up and step-in. Some guys can and will rise to the occasion and some guys need to hold a clipboard for a couple of seasons... Arron Rogers did, how has that workout?

With no noted exceptional QB on the horizon, we are going to back to smash mouth football. Defense still wins championships.

IIRC, there was a point in the Bears' last game where Jay Cutler was 11-13 for 47 yards. How in the heck do you complete 11 passes and total only 47 yards? Yikes!

It's only Year 1. If he spends the entire off-season working on his game, watching film, and learning what it means to be an NFL QB, he can come back strong.

These young cats have to realize you don't stop being an NFL QB when the game's over. You're the face of the franchise. That's why I love what I saw from Teddy Bridgewater.

I wish you are right. But Johnny Barstool has already been down this road once, claiming he'd grown up and was ready to be an NFL quarterback. I'm rooting for him but I think I was wrong about him.

Steelers sign running back Ben Tate

Posted 1 hour ago

Team releases wide receiver Justin Brown.

The Steelers have signed running back Ben Tate to the 53-man roster, the team announced today.

Tate joins the Steelers after spending the 2011-13 seasons with the Houston Texans and 2014 with the Cleveland Browns and Minnesota Vikings.

Since entering the NFL as a second-round (58th overall) draft choice by Houston in 2010, the Auburn product has totaled 540 carries for 2,363 yards and 14 rushing touchdowns while adding 67 catches for 347 yards in 51 games (15 starts).

To make room on the roster, the Steelers released wide receiver Justin Brown.

I know it sucks but Bell may not play. However, in the last game played against the Ravens Bell did not have a good game (Blount had more yards).

The Steelers will have their hands full with the Ravens saturday.

I'm confident they can grit out a win but they can't kill themselves

with mistakes.

lol

If Cutler couldn't do it with the weapons he had this year I just don't

ever see this guy making it as a so called elite qb. Jake Plummer had a

better career than this guy.

Jim Harbarugh to Michigan is a done deal. The 49ers will rue the day they let him go. He brought that franchise back, took them to 3 straight NFC title games and a Super Bowl appearance. So he's abrasive - big fucking deal.

I'm glad my Giants kept Coughlin - bad front office moves doomed the G-men this season, not coaching. Now fix the fucking offensive and defensive lines Jerry Reese!
