I love my Android. As much as I am a Mac head, I will never get the iPhone. Too limited, and my first android had what the iPhone six has, from the jump....

Welll you betta hope Billy-Bob and his "people" fuck-up Windows 9 then. lol

Apple upgrades need to be a little further apart... none of this, we've moved the button from left to right shit. Apple hardware specs should be more substantial... premium price should mean premium hardware. Apple watch, should be connectd to the iPad at least, wifi and 5/6g. (IMH) Apple needs to reach and make a greater in-roads into the "enterprise."

Like you, I'm Linux user and fan but really... my computer geeks folks need to move quickly and make a damn tablet. The Linux notebook/desktops that are being made at present cost too much.

I've been hearing about desktops and laptops with built in wifi. That's good, so that you don't have to pay an extra cost for installation. Also, I don't currently own an apple iphone. I was possibly considering it, but from what I'm seeing and what's told to me, the difference in your upgrade is the model and more apps. Right now, I'm not sure at this point shrug

I'm a latecomer to the iWorld.

Not one to go out and buy "the next best thing" out there, I was happy with my work-issued Android phone (and my Blackberry before that).

THEN, I got an iPod Touch 2 years ago, and I was all; "Oooooohhh....Aaaaahhh...."

THEN my job switched over to iPhones, and I have to say that I'm hooked. If my job switched away from them, I'd have to get my own.

Now, I think that I want the Apple Watch.

My rule of thumb with Apple, is to wait, whether it's iPods/ iPhones, notebooks, or any new release. Apple products function damn good, but I've been burned: iPad 3 & iPod 4g. A couple of years ago they didn't offer Intel Core processors / premium hardware. HP was offering those specs -pulls free hardware upgrades- for what the cheapest MacBook Pro 13'cost. Eight months later the MacBook Pro had the specs as the HP, I bought one. So, just ask yourself what do you do and how will you use their products and wait. Then make a decision...

I'll tell what I've never done, spend hours on the phone with Apple like I've done in the past with Windows. They have great customer service and I like the fact they call you when it's convenient for you. In store customer is excellent also.

i tend to wait too... i'll be going from an iphone 4s to a 6plus... and the only reason i'm doing that is because my phone has some issues

i like the convenience of how everything syncs... we have 2 ipads (an ipad 2 and i just bought a mini for my studio... will be buying my wife a new mini for xmas)... apple tv... my studio also has one of the new round mac pros

and i've found their customer service to be excellent

as i said, spec wise, i can see where other phones can be great... but i'm just comfortable using apple products

Well I think phunkdaddy is still waiting for the iPhone to cook a pork-chop. :giggle:

IOS8 release is today. If you have a 2g/3G/4g iPad; I'd wait and see what others say, if iOS 8 works. If it slows are bricks your iPad... I'm gonna download iOS8 to my iPad Air now.

Apple, new iPads, in Oct.

Microsoft have already been kicked off the top table, and all for the better. Like Sony, who are struggling, they are now innovating and producing much better products that Apple, phone have become complacent, and margin focussed.

I use Apple (imac), Android (Tablet) and recently switched from iphone to Windows phone and its simply stunning. The iphone 6 is in the dark ages in comparison.

The lumia 930 has stunning build quality, 20mp camera, image stabilisation, 4K video, 8mp stills from video, built in swift text, funll HD 5" OLED screen, all the major apps, 1TB of free online skydrive, Nokia sat nav, NFC and wireless charging. All the things Apple should have been giving their customers. Best still, its half the price.

The Sony's are now waterproof and have HDMI. I went windows because the phone operating system is far ahead of iOS and Android.

While this is going on, the iphone 6 simply plays screen size catch up and has copied the design of the 2 year old nokia 925. Look at the picture of the old nokia. You would think its the new iphone.

Nokia 925

Iphone 6

It's never happen. But thr iPhone will damn nearly replace all music production studios (including Paisley Park!) before the year 2020.

I agree, iPhone and iPad. More sophisticated hardware (mic's and audio interfaces) will have to built around those devices (that's being done now) , but production studios as we know them will become dinosaurs. I'm really glad to see Apple making an attempt (though small steps) to allow its users to intergrate or share between recording apps.

I've noticed that the cost of the Apple iphone 6 phones ranges from $200-$500, depending on the amount of GB's you wish to purchase on a contract.

To buy it outright, it is a 950 dollar phone. That is for the plus with the most memory. Too much,
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.
