Do you think Ibaka will come back during the series against the Spurs?

I keep hearing he might go tonight for Game 3. But he won't be100%.

This might be slightly off topic but are NBA games rigged? I just wonder how it's possible that there are such drastic differences in how players play one day versus the next time they play. I know a few years ago there was the NBA referee scandal...

Western Conference Finals

Game 5

Oklahoma City Thunder 89 San Antonio Spurs 117

The San Antonio Spurs felt embasrassed by their poor play in OKC, and they were determined to right their ship or otherwise face possible elimination in game 6. They did make some adjustments to their lineup, starting Matt Bonner and giving Boris Diaw major minutes in this game, but ultimately the entire team exploded into awesome play. The Spurs would hit 13 shots from behind the 3-point line, and they would pull away in the second quarter and never look back. Tim Duncan led the Spurs with 22 points and 10 rebounds, but the whole team contributed. Manu Ginobili scored 19 points and dished out six assists, Danny Green and Kawhi Leonard each scored 14 points, Boris Diaw scored 13 points, Tony Parker added 12 points, and even Patty Mills hit three 3-pointers. Kevin Durant scored 25 points for the Thunder while Russell Westbrook scored 21 points, but the only other player to score any more than six points for OKC was Reggie Jackson, who scored 11 points. The Spurs can now close out this series on Saturday night, but they will have to do it where they have not won at all the past few seasons.

San Antonio leads series 3-2.

While it certainly is not a done deal yet, with owner Donald Sterling still contemplating fighting his ban from the NBA and the possible forced sale of his franchise, it appears former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has emerged as the winning bidder for new ownership of the Los Angeles Clippers, with a bid reportedly for 2 billion dollars, making this the second highest price paid for any sports franchise according to the Los Angeles Times. Ballmer's bid reportedly topped those from groups led by music mogul David Geffen ($1.6 billion) and L.A. investors Tony Ressler and Steve Karsh ($1.2 billion).

This is not the first time Ballmer has tried to buy an NBA franchise. He made a bid for the Sacramento Kings, but that was nixed when he made overtures about moving the team to Seattle. If the deal goes through, he would not be the first current or former Microsoft executive to own an NBA franchise, as co-founder Paul Allen owns a majority stake in the Portland Trail Blazers.

Lebron made the smart basketball move passing to an open teammate, but the play should have been for Allen or Lewis.

I guarantee Lebron doesn't get 5 fouls tomorrow night.

Wtf is with that fool who was blowing in Lebron's ear? That has to be one of the oddest things I ever saw in professional sports, lol

Eastern Conference Finals

Game 6

Indiana Pacers 92 Miami Heat 117

Despite not being able to close out this series in Indianapolis, the Miami Heat still had a golden opportunity to close out the series and advance to their fourth consecutive NBA Finals appaearance. The Pacers would jump out to an early 9-2 lead, and it appeared that the Heat would be in for a long night.

Hardly.

Instead, the Heat burned the Pacers, exploding late in the first quarter and went into halftime with a 26 point lead. They were led by Lebron James and Chris Bosh, who each scored 25 points while Dwyane Wade and Rashard Lewis each added 13 points to lead the blowout. The Heat would lead bvy as much as 37 points before cruising to an easy victory and advancing to the NBA Finals. Paul George led the Pacers with 29 points while David West scored 16 points but was in foul trouble all night. Lance Stephenson was limited to 11 points but got himself nearly ejected from the game after a flagrant foul on Norris Cole sent him to the floor. The Heat now look to make a threepeat while the Indiana Pacers contemplate possible changes during the offseason.

Miami wins series 4-2.

I don't want to believe it but I am starting to think that these NBA games are rigged. It's weird how in game 5 the Pacers were neck and neck with the Heat and suddenly they are blown out two days later? This is really suspect.

Well there was a scandal that broke out a year or two against one of the refs in the NBA. He was basically saying that some higher ups in the league make it a point to have "visits" with the refs the morning of the game and telling them how to officiate. I think the only reason Miami wins is because of rigging from officiating, no calls and how the playoffs are structured. They trounced the Bobcats and now the Pacers....but the Pacers are not really consistent and the Bobcats were probably just too young. However, in the Western Conference the competition is much stiffer from the first round all the way to making it to the finals. Miami will have longer to rest than whichever Western Conf team will win it all in the conference finals before heading to the finals......

Make no mistake, the Heat and LeBron can ball! Exceptional talent on the Heat team.

No one can ever say for sure what goes on behind the scenes in a game but these guys are the truth!

Yeah I guess it was just weird seeing Lebron only score 7 points the other night and then on other nights he scores 40 or 50? I guess the drastic differences from one day to the next kind of stood out. Full disclosure: I am NOT a Lebron fan at all! LOL biggrin

Lance Stephenson is a talented player, but a knucklehead. Even Larry Bird told him to cut the shit. Wonder if he'll be back next season.

Pacers are experiencing what Isiah's Pistons and Jordan's Bulls went through - years of playoff heartbreak. Those teams eventually got over the hump. Pacers can to, with a few tweaks. First and foremost, they need a legit Jason Kidd-type point guard.

Western Conference Finals

Game 6

San Antonio Spurs 112 Oklahoma City Thunder 107 F/OT

San Antonio came into this game with a chance to close out this series, yet they had not won in OKC for the past couple of seasons. Nevertheless, they were determined not to play a game 7.

But the Thunder would not make this easy. They woud play a tight game in the first half, with Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook carrying the load, and they would lead by seven at the half. However, they got very little offensive production from their bench, and this would come back to haunt them.

San Antonio stormed out in the thrid quarter and took the lead from OKC, despite missing the presence of Tony Parker, who left the game at halftime with an injured ankle that was sore coming into this game. The Spurs would be picked up by Boris Diaw, who scored 26 points in the game. They expanded their lead to 12 points in the fourth quarter before OKC would claw its way back late. Russell Westbrook led the way for OKC with 34 points, eight assists, seven rebounds, and six steals while Kevin Durant added 31 points and 14 rebounds. Reggie Jackson would add 21 points. The final four minutes of regulation went back and forth, with the teams exchaning leads and ties all the way to the end. Westbrook tied the game with two free throws with six seconds left in the fourth quarter, and Manu Ginobili attempted a jumper at the buzzer which missed but was tipped back by Tim Duncan; however, it was waived off because the shot came after the buzzer.

But in overtime, the Spurs would prevail. The Thunder only managed to make one field goal in the overtime period, and the potential game leading fast break layup by Reggie Jackson was blocked by Kawhi Leonard, who dribbled the ball back to Tum Duncan, who hit a mid-range jumper to put the Spurs up for good and send them back to the NBA Finals for a rematch against the Miami Heat. Ginobili scored 15 points for San Antonio while Tim Duncan scored 19 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. Serge Ibaka scored 16 points for the Thunder, but their bench players scored a total of five points, all of them by Derek Fisher early in the game. This lack of bench production forced OKC to play the starters major minutes, and they ran out of gas and out of time in overtime. OKC now goes home wondering what might have been while the Spurs look to avenge last season's disappointing loss to the Miami Heat.

San Antonio wins series 4-2.

Thunder definitively need solid veterans coming off the bench, and doing what the Spurs reserves do.

They did that with Fisher and Butler and failed.

Playing 39 year old D-Fish over young promising Jeremy Lamb.

Playing Caron Butler over Perry Jones.

Playing bum Perkins over Steven Adams

Thank You Scotty Brooks

Not using amnesty on Perkins and letting go of Harden

Way to screw up a dynasty

So did ya think that the 5th game of the Clippers-OKC playoff game was rigged with the Clippers up big and Chris Paul unexplicably turning the ball over at the end of the game.

Did ya think the Mavs-Heat finals a few years ago was rigged so Dirk

could get him a ring or do you only think it's rigged when the Heat win?

Just asking? lol

Why don't you ask all those bookies and loan sharks in Vegas that control the sports betting empire if the games are rigged or if the refs are coerced? biggrin
