I honestly didn't know that Aretha cooked. Does she have cookbooks out?

I know Patti use to do a lot of cooking. Never heard of Aretha cooking. Simply being a heavy person in this day and age does not automatically translate into great cooking skills. Granted she does come from an ole skool background so who's to say, maybe she can and doesn't because she really doesn't have to anymore. People of a certain wealth can have hamburgers flown to them, or something like that.

Since I own two of Patti Labelle's cookbooks and have used them often, I'm going to say Auntie Patti. But Auntie Re Re can invite me over to dinner anytime to make me change my mind. lol

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

highfive Me too! I'd say that ReRe can probably throw down, but it is quite obvious he loves somebody's cooking. lol

Patti, imo would the better cook of the two, if she still cooks with heart-health in mind. she did a cookbook a while back titled, "recipes for the good life."

here's one review of her cookbook.

"I have all of Patti's cookbooks and this one is by far the best! more recipes, easy to follow and and a variety of foods, not just soul food.
I highly recommend this for everyone!!! I bought it for all of the women and men in my life as holiday gifts."

Aretha does cook. I've seen her multiple times on different shows demonstrating her skills. A few years ago, she was on a show cooking a Christmas ham and I remember how fatty the ham was and she didn't trim any of it off.eek I think because Patti is diabetic, she may be the more health-conscience chef.

yes, way back in the 90s, she was on a martha stewart holiday special cooking up some ham and sweet potatoes. martha - being martha - could not disguise the "horror" in her voice as aretha poured a bottle of coke (or maybe it was dr. pepper?) into the bag with the ham and dotted the sweet potatoes with marshmallows. i thought it was too funny!
