Week 11; How are you doin'?

Well, last week (10), I was 67.3 kilo and today it's 65.8!

So, I did loss exactly the 1.5 I wanted to loose.

excited

However, I did not sport this week. I did refrain from eating phatty easy food. I went to the biological market and got myself seeds, vegetables, fruit, nuts and free range meat. Having only healthy food in my fridge and freezer really helps.

My breakfast has consisted of smoothies of fruit out of my freezer. And meals consisted of vegetables with a tiny bit of free range bacon for the taste.

My big weakness are glutenfree brownies from Damhert. When I open the pack, I eat them all four. They are expensive, but sooooooo good! I guess I can start to bake myself a weekly brownie supply. So, I can meet my brownie craving, but with ingredients I can trust and a bit cheaper.

So, how did you guys do? What went well and what kind of pitfalls do we need to find a solution for?

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

How come you didn't walk this week?

I think I have to make walking a part of my morning routine, because otherwise I will make all kind of excuses for myself.

I gave up sugar for Lent, which was to kick off the "diet".

After a week, I've lost 3lbs. redface

what does sugar for lent mean?

Well, that's good isn't it? I find it hard to give up sugar. I still use sugar in my decaf coffee. And I stack fruit in my freezer and make smoothies with them. I did manage to switch to drinking tapwater in stead of limonade. At first I missed the syrups a bit, but now that I got used to drinking water, I'm lad I don't need those sugars anymore.

Also, it is a gradual process to give up sugars totally, I know nod but you've mentioned eating fruits. That's good. Too much coffee is not good for you, so you should at leas cut back on it.

The aim of this weekly thread is to support eachother. And discuss if something is not working for somebody.

If you state that "I should cut back on it", I cringe.

I guess what you mean is:

Why don't you cut back on coffee?

I don't drink that much coffee and if I do, I drink decaf. So, I choose the most healthy option.

I like my coffee with sugar. And a decaf coffee with sugar, rice milk and a gluten free brownie makes me very happy.

So, I don't want to give that up.

I do think I might restrict myself to 3 or 4 cups a week or something.

I can't do this on my own. Please, help me out.

How did you do last week? What's your weigh on friday?

I found this story interesting.

http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2014/mar/14/life-without-sugar-family-challenge-diet?CMP=fb_gu

I already had cut down a lot on sugar, just drinking water. My only sugar intake is with coffee and the brownies.

And the peanut butter, jam and chocolate paste on my rice crackers.

I've been doing ok, intermittent fasting and LCHF
Green smoothies for lunches and healthy dinners

I have some major water weight fluctuations and I can't pin point what's causing it

One day I can be 66kg and the next 69kg :confuse:

Inflammation? Hormones? Cortisol? Not enough potassium?

I drink lots of water, avoid all my allergens :hmm2:

I started logging on calorie count again to see if I can see any patterns
I'm the mistake you wanna make

I understand that, but I don't think that's what I'm talking about.

I weigh in each morning following the advice in this article:

http://www.psychologytoda...our-weight

I'm talking about one morning I will weigh in at 67 kg, next morning I'll be 69 kg and stay around that for a week or so. It used to be after a carb binge or a night on the rum.

After 3 days on this:

net carbs: 34 g (I usually eat around 20)

Up to fats: 201 g

Total protein: 67 g (I have a hard time getting it under 75 g)

http://www.edify.net.au/l...ulator.php

I can get back to 67 kg. I am guessing because if I eat this way, I avoid all irritants and allergens because all I'm eating is fibrous vegies (excluding root vegies, legumes and pulses), pastured eggs, grassfed meats and butter, and coconut and olive oils, tea and water.

I'm trying out this for 3 weeks (started last monday) and it will be a challenge for me!

I have no problems going without sugar and refined carbs at all, but next Saturday night I'll be at the club and staying away from the alcohol will be hard - although I will try remember that cortisol levels get higher from alcohol and make you crave it even more (!) and the resolt is a shit-load of water retention pissed

As for exercise, I play soccer once a week in a tournament, and one other night play backyard soccer for fun with my son who goes in hard!! I do a quick 15 minute weights circuit 3 times a week and I walk a fast 35 minute route with 2 hills also about 3 times a week.

I dialled down the exercise after christmas, I think I was overtraining and got very unmotivated.

My goal is to be 60-62 kg like J-Lo

I picked her because she is supposedly same height as me 166.5 cm and not younger than me!

I think now I've gained back the muscle mass I lost when dieting the conventional way last year, I will see some fat loss - I hope!!! nuts

I'm the mistake you wanna make
