"You put it in terms that they may understand," Lei's mother, Carol, told Mashable. "I'm not condoning it, I'm not saying go out in the streets and take marijuana. It also adds a little bit of cool factor. I can be a cool parent for a little bit."

According to Kelly Parisi, chief communications officer from Girl Scouts of the USA, each region of Girl Scouts has its own guidelines.

"All the money stays in local councils, and they make all decisions on how the cookie program is run," said Parisi in a statement. "As always, our primary concern is the safety and well-being of the girls we serve. Volunteers and parents are empowered to relocate their booths if conditions change and the location is no longer suitable."

With no opposition from Lei's local Girl Scouts chapter, she and her mother plan to return to the Green Cross to sell more cookies Saturday.

The Girl Scouts of Colorado issued a tweet expressing their disapproval of the situation. "If you are wondering, we don't allow our Girl Scouts to sell cookies in front of marijuana shops or liquor stores/bars" read the tweet.

The Green Cross, which also sells a variety of marijuana named Girl Scout Cookie, has posted numerous items on its Facebook page referencing Lei, with one comical post featuring the Dos Equis beer "most interesting man in the world."

"I don't always buy Girl Scout cookies, but when I do, I buy them from the genius outside The Green Cross pot dispensary," reads the post.

I ain't mad at them. They understood consumer habit and they positioned their perfectly harmless product thusly.

Pot smokers are a generous lot by nature.

Brilliant marketing strategy! Hell, I bet Girl Scout Headquarters is still going to take that cash.

They should allow them to do it in Colorado. It's a great location. Besides, like Pot users don't go to the grocery store? GTFO with this BS. It's not like their outside a bar or strip club where trouble always seems to be.

How much do the cookies cost now? If I remember correctly, you don't even get a dozen cookies depending on the cookie. The trefoils and thin mints probably have a count of only 18 cookies if that. When I was a girl sout the cookies cost 35 cents a box! Of course, that was ions ago.

I think the Delicious cookies are $3.50 a box....I don't know how long they've been selling them here in South Carolina. Strange that I havent come across ANY the entire month of February. I havent seen one coworker with a Freaking box and the people I work with can EAT. I'm a Caramel Delight Freak. Each bite is so chewy and amazing...

They cost 4.50 a box in this state. (And yes less cookies and smaller too.)

I found a lady at the hospital where I used to work. She was able to get me two boxes of Thin Mints. I was still hankering for the peanut butter pattie cookie and others so I went on eBay and found them. I had to pay $4.00 a box. I bought 12 boxes of assorted cookies, but the woman I bought them from wasn't what I would call a grateful vendor.
