Being one of the few G-fans here, I've been fapping since this came out. Hopefully this will make us forget that piece of shit 'Fakezilla' Sony released in 1998. From everything I've read, this is closer to the Japanese version, which is what G-fans like me want.

Having freelanced for apparel/accessory companies with the Godzilla license, I've seen what it looks like. I would've made the plates and certain facial features closer to Toho's 'G', but you cats won't be disappointed. He ain't green, that's for sure.

Wish they used his roar from 1954's 'Gojira'. That was badass.

I have no idea why its so hard to make a good Godzilla movie. Been a fan also for decades, but disappointed with the American versions of them. I'm glad in Godzilla: Final Wars, the real G killed off the bootlegged Sony Iquana-zilla. Wait, how did this get put in P&R??

i hate to be a "doggy downer" on this - but - i would love to see a good godzilla movie - at the same time i think it reminds me of "thor " in that - it is TOUGH to make a good movie about what we are talking about ...

Maybe I dont understand the idea of a "good " godzilla flick ... and i hope there is one out there ... i used to watch the "godzilla vs mothra" stuff when i was little ... and i liked it then .... now it is just cheesy ...

and yes the Mathew Broderick movie was unwatchable ... i dont think i watched the whole thing once even though i think my kids have seen it a few times ..

i watched this trailor the first day it was out ... i just am not convinced that a good godzilla movie can be made ... sigh .

ColAngus, the best G-movie was the original from 1954 (Japanese version, not the butchered American version with Raymond Burr). The best sequel is still 1964's 'Mothra vs Godzilla'. After that, the franchise jumped-the-shark when Toho decided to make it kid-friendly.

Edwards promised Godzilla will go back to his dark roots, and be a terrifying force of nature.

It is hard to make this movie. If it is too well done it will be hated by the fans of the originals and if it is too much like the originals it will be seen as a joke.

The original 1954 'Gojira' was a dark, serious sad film. The monster represents the H-bomb and it's effects on the Japanese. If the 2014 movie comes close to that, G-fans will be thrilled.

What did you think of Cloverfield? Not a Godzilla movie, but along the same lines. And while i think it was a bit overrated, it was at least decent.

I hated the last Godzilla movie. Love the old 60's/70's movies, they were fun. Loved the 1970's NBC cartoon.

I recommend the 1954 black & white Japanese version(with subtitles). The American version was edited so bad, the movie loses its meaning.
