Where as some trusting fans believed the post, others were immediately skeptical of the report, perhaps learning their lesson from the huge amount of fake death reports emerging about celebrities over recent months. Some pointed out that the news had not been carried on any major American network, indicating that it was a fake report, as the death of an actor of Paul Walker’s stature would be major news across networks.
A recent poll conducted for the Celebrity Post shows that a large majority (68%) of respondents think those Paul Walker death rumors are not funny anymore.
Paul Walker Death Hoax Dismissed Since Actor Is ‘Alive And Well’
On Saturday (November 30) the actor’s reps officially confirmed that Paul Walker is not dead. “He joins the long list of celebrities who have been victimized by this hoax. He’s still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the Internet,” they said.
Some fans have expressed anger at the fake report saying it was reckless, distressing and hurtful to fans of the much loved actor. Others say this shows his extreme popularity across the globe.
The only problem is, the story claiming Walker’s death is a hoax is, itself, a hoax. Also from MediaMass:

The concept is to select the most typical, representative and recurrent articles across Gossip magazines and to make them available for all the celebrities in our database.
The ‘People’ section is a humorous parody of Gossip magazines, all stories are obviously not true.
Thus thousands of celebrities, Bill Gates in USA, Zhang Ziyi in China, Ranbir Kapoor in India, etc. all have a dog called “Spinee” recovering from successful surgery.
We won’t change the world, but at least we’ll laugh trying.
Nobody’s laughing right now. This news is still fresh enough that people who know Walker could be fooled, and damaged, by this “joke,” even if only for a moment.

There's at least one report that Fast And Furious star Paul Walker died after a single car accident earlier today in Santa Clarita, California. (UPDATED: Rep has confirmed.)

So I work in Santa Clarita at an automotive performance shop and a good customer just came from Paul's shop, AE (Always Evolving) where they were having a car show. It seems Paul went for a ride in a guys Porsche and they ended up around a phone pole, the car burst onto flames and rumour has it Paul is dead. I hope he got it wrong but he insists it was Paul. I'm reluctant to post this being just hearsay, but the guy who informed us is a wealthy car enthusiast that just pulled up in his Maserati and nothing to gain from a lie, and has video on his phone of the burning car. If it does turn out to be true, damn... RIP Paul.

According to TMZ, who say they have sources on the scene, Walker was giving rides i...orsche GT" when the incident occurred. The fiery accident reportedly happened during one of those test spins.

According to the Santa Clarita Valley Signal:

Spectators gathered at the scene, and several said the driver was the star of "The Fast and the Furious" series of films. One witness at the scene said he tried to put the fire out and recognized Walker inside the vehicle.

The crash completely destroyed the red Porsche Carrera GT that was involved. An assistant to Mr. Walker's manager could neither confirm nor deny the report.

The Carrera GT appears to be from Always Evolving, a performance shop that Mr. Walker is believed to be financially involved with. This is the car earlier today on their Facebook page:

The LA County Sheriff's department has confirmed to Jalopnik that two people were DoA in a collision earlier today, but haven't released names. TMZ reporter Ryan Satin says he spoke to Walker's representative who confirmed that Walker was really killed in the accident.

What a great loss to the Fast and Furious family.

So sad.

I usually don't get too upset about celebrity deaths but I really liked this guy. He was so involved in charity work and really was an all around great guy. I'm super bummed. Being notified by his Facebook page was so heartbreaking.

So sad. Especially dying like that .

RIP To both men, Paul Walker and passenger knew the risks invovled when taking someone along for the ride.

So horrible, he is gone too soon and will be missed.

Paul Walker's body was burned so badly the coroner needs his dental records to identify the body ... TMZ has learned.

A rep for the L.A. County Coroner tells us ... the bodies of Paul and his friend/business partner Roger Rodas are currently unidentifiable and their autopsies will be delayed until later this week.

We're told the coroner is waiting on both sets of dental records before proceeding.

Rodas -- who was driving the Porsche yesterday -- was friends with Walker for nearly a decade ... and Roger has been credited with helping Paul start his race shop.

The two also joined forces to create the "Reach Out World Wide" Foundation to help disaster relief in other countries -- and as we first reported ... the group was behind yesterday's fundraiser for typhoon relief in Santa Clarita.

Paul's rep says Roger and Paul were leaving the event when they wrecked.

Rodas was 38 years old.
