So im trying to copy the songs on my ipod to my comp, as well as a usb stick for safe keeping. I downloaded 2 different programs...one was idump classic...one was copyKat?......anywho..they were BOTH trial versions.

i remember years ago finding a great program but cannot remember the name of it!!

very simple & basic (like me)

i cannot stand itunes so dont tell me to go there. I have an ipod nano (2nd gen)

any advice would be great.

hmmm...i went to that link but it said it was a trial version.

so i searched cnet & downloaded

idump classicPro & it said i needed to download itunes & then it crashed.

WTF. Dammit!

I don't think there are any more "free" iPod transfer software left then. Tell everyone just purchase an external hard for your iTunes music only. I got caught once when a hard drive went south and iDump (when it was free) save my ass.

thanks...it worked somewhat... i have 530 songs on my ipod...but when i followed the link to transfer them to a usb stick, it said 171 songs selected.

i dunno....some of the song are only 30 secs long...wth? i'll try to post a snipet.

sharepod did the job!

It's not that easy to transfer music from iPod to Computer.

You may try to find some 3rd-party to do this.

I used a tool to do the transferring called iOS Transfer which can do more than iTunes.
