Miley needs to enroll in Gaga's yoga classes.

By the way, Gaga's new video has about 31 million views.

Miley's has over 160 million.

Prince's FIXURLIFEUP has about 300,000.

Different audiance.

Gaga worked with Inez van Lamsweerde. Very good choice. Inez is a fantastic woman.

And wise. Not a superficial nitwit.

Earner her spurs and has seen it all. She was the right choice as a director for Lady GaGa's video.

Miley would be in very good hands with Erwin Olaf.

Never go back to the silly director of Blurred Lines.

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

My problem with the situation is not that she acted the way she did or wore what she wore. I'm perfectly fine with a young girl being fine with her body. My problem is that lately Miley comes off not as being a true individual but just doing whatever she can do to not be called a child star again. Also why is it that Robin Thicke isn't getting any blame? He was as much in on Myley's doggystyle action as her.

Because Robin Thicke is supposedly immune to something. lol

As for Miley, I think the reason why she performed that way and did what she did was because of attention whoring. Even Gaga didn't get that much attention during her performance. Probably the first time no one focused on her during an MTV show.

I feel sorry for the younger generations nowadays. Music Awards 25 years ago were SO exciting and full of class, talent, but most importantly, entertainment. Now, they're nothing but noise, smut, and standing ovations for mediocre performances. Gaga's performance was ok, but that song is atrocious. Yet they made it out like it was biggest thing on earth. Add Mileys slut parade, and Perry's "grand finale". Well, what you get end up with is....... CRAP. Someone get me the Hot Tub Time Machine!!!

If you went back to the good ol' days when the music was amazing and the musicians were real, you might find that things really haven't changed all that much...

Except for the MUSIC AND THE MUSICIANS.

Not that I would put Miley in any of those two catagories.

I can't see why anyone would have an issue with exposed skin or even dancing so called "provocatively".

Miley's performance was neither shocking or even sexually explicit. It was simply a terrible performance that was not entertaining in any way. It was a totally spastic, desperate attempt to show a subculture that she desperately wants to be part of but clearly has no idea what the fuck she is doing. Even she looked confused.

I saw this coming, as soon as I saw her Terry Richardson photos of her in her "express yourself" pose I knew it was all heading this way...I just didn't think she would look quite this pathetic.

It's not that it was "provocative dancing," but provocative dancing done without authenticity. Miley has played the girl next door for the bulk of her career-changing to the "bad" girl image is a tricky situation and if it is done with authenticity it would be somewhat well received.

She didn't act like a sex kitten. And that is what bothers a lot of people.

It was her version of a modern sex kitten without authenticity.

Well she sure hit a nerve with everyone and as they say there is no such thing as bad publicity. I don't think she was trying to be sexy at all I think she was totally doing a parody. I don't think she took the performance that seriously and just went out full balls to the walls and have some fun.

Hell it takes nerve to get up there and do that stripper pole antics.

Courtney's done worse.

Miley's performance was downright quaint compared to what this band usually does on stage neutral...this is one of their more tame performances:

So many People (especially women over the age of 40) have gone after Miley for 2 straight days. My response to everyone is that Provocative Stage performing began with 18yr old Elvis and WILL NOT end with 20yr old miley. That's a FACT.

*************************************************************************

Back in the 80's Cher was practically NAKED when she walked on stage to pick up her Oscar. Miley didnt event the SHOCK factor/theory...Rock n Rollers have been shocking the public LONG before most of us was born. Today we call them LEGENDS..

******************************************************************

Look at LaBelle & Chaka Khan & Kiss & Madonna & Lil'Kim....Miley didnt originate anything on Sunday night folks....The industry APPROVES sex....let's move on cuz she def got the Publicity she needed for her new CD...

In what alternate reality within which parallel universe are my posts evidence of me needing to "calm down"? lol...

As for as "classlessness", nothing Miley did onstage is any different than what Prince has done on stage. Prince has rubbed his crotch just like Miley did (is there a classy way to rub one's crotch? Thread idea!)...Prince has stuck his guitar between his legs in a sexual manner just like Miley did with the foam finger thingamabob...ok, he has never "twerked" as far as I know lol....but he's shown his bare ass on MTV like Lady Gaga (although she showed a little more of hers)...not to mention the classy ejaculating guitar, the absolutely classy rubbing on the head of the microphone as though it's the head of his dick, and the eloquent and debonair way Prince had Wendy pretend to give him head during a guitar solo thumbs up!.

The issue isn't "class"...it's that someone like Miley Cyrus can't do these things with any authority. Prince does it and it's as natural as breathing. Miley does it and it's awkward and insincere. "Classlessness" has zero to do with it.

Oh come on! Class period has zero to do with this conversation. When Prince used to get damn near naked and did freaky shit on stage, it was over shadowed by his enormous amount of TALENT and backed up by the enormous amount of TALENT from his band.

I wouldn't have cared if Miley Cyrus had been butt ass naked if her performance had the slightest resemblance of TALENT to it but it didn't. Her singing was off as hell and I don't give a damn what anyone says a flat booty girl twerking and grinding all over the place and putting her face up to the big booty of a girl in a furry outfit is NOT dancing! hammer

Blame Disney for serving a unrealistic, silly perception of how life is to children.

Don't blame Miley for showing reality.

If you raise your children with fantasy TV and silly idealistic ideals that are far away from reality,

then you are guilty for not being ablt to handle the pain when they find out that reality is very different from what they were told by parents and Disney.

Personally, I would not leave raising my kids up, to Disney channel.

I prefer my own dedication and attention. Much more informative.

And girl will not be so horrible dissapointed when she finds out that Disney's prince does not exist.

Not at all.

Think about it. Girls dream about the princes that Disney served them. Whilst boys of their age secretly watch all the porn they can see on the internet.

Try to match that!

Boys acting as gentle princes, just to get into her trousers, so he can do to her what he saw on the internet. And when he's done, he'll dump her.

And she does not understand that all that Prince behavior and smooth talk, was just to get in her pants.

She will think it's something she did wrong. Because, she can't imagine that he would actually be lying to her, just to get sex.

Get my point?

No porn for boys, no Disney crap for girls. Let them play outside and experience reality.

Maybe there's a language barrier here...but you're not REALLY blaming Disney for bad parenting, are you?

My daughter grew up with the Disney Princess fanfare. She saw all the movies, had the posters on her wall, and wore the costumes at Halloween.

Then she grew up.

It's OK for a 5 y.o. to want to be a princess, but not a 15 y.o. - it's not good to dwell on fantasy (at least not in America where we don't have ACTUAL royalty).

There is room in this world for a little girl to want to be Aurora at age 6, Hannah Montana at age 12, and Hillary Clinton at age 24.

As for the part with the boys wanting to get in her pants...that's gonna happen REGARDLESS of who she looks up to or idolizes. A good parent prepares them for that...regardless of ideology. (Unless the parents want to marry them off or something)

It's not so much the cankles - I know there's very little one can do about that. But heavens to Betsy, don't make it worse by puting on a pair of high-waters - especially with a long jacket. The proportions are terrible - and she ends up hanging a lantern on her problems.

I love Oscar de la Renta to death, but he should spend some time in fashion purgatory for making those monstrosities for her. disbelief
