Travel advice

Hello orglanders

What has been ure experience with the best prices? My wife and daughter r wanting to take a trip to Las Vegas for a dance conference. The $500 round trip price is scaring off some of their travel companions. They are a nonprofit dance group that specialize in traditional ethnic dancing.

Ill hang up and listen.
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

$500.00 ($250.00 each way) seems reasonable to me. Depending on the size of the group, someone could look into getting a group rat, a package rate (airfare and hotel) for your dance troupe. The more people that go lowers your cost. Even so, if that isn't plausible

What month would you travel to LV?
How many days will you stay?
What days are you staying.

You should be able to find hotel prices on the strip, for $71.00 per night up to $115.00 for Friday possibly Sat... though the Flamingo usually lower its rates on Saturday ~ below $100.00. Flamingo, Bally's, Circus Curcus, New York New York... You shoul be able to come up with some reasonable rates. The other alternative is to stay close off the strip... I have no experiences those hotels. Just make sure you pick one that offers free shuttle to the strip, if you go that route. And checkout the hotel rates for downtown LV.

Thanks guys...they would be travelling from Detroit MI during the fourth of July week.

They have a place to stay, so they just need air tix.

What happened to those ultra cheap flights to Vegas? years ago, you could go for less than $100. lol

I always get to Vegas for around $280 (it used to always be under $200 but prices went up about 5 years ago) from Minneapolis but you have to travel on certain days. Friday's and Sunday's are out if you want good rates. I go about twice a year. Prices change continually so set a price alert into Kayak and it will send you an email if a flight pops up at that price. I usually check prices 2 or 3 times a day besides the email alerts if I am in the market for flights as prices will flux hundreds of dollars.

I just noticed the Holiday travel time which usually increases prices but I would still check back often.

Yep, we did vegas about 12yrs ago and the flights were around $250 per person.

I think the spirt cheap flights are all gone... and if you do find one you might have to pay $200 for your luggage so they will get you anyway.

I avoid flying unless absolutely necessary. Too expensive.
