HAPPY NATIONAL CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE DAY!

Whoever came up with this day is alright in my book. biggrin

It's National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day!

Half of all cookies sold today in the U.S. are chocolate chip, but the popular cookies were actually invented by accident. The story goes that in 1930, Ruth Graves Wakefield mixed semi-sweet chocolate chunks into a batch of Butter Drop Do sugar cookies that she was baking for guests at the Toll House Inn, in Whitman, Mass., according to Nestle. The chocolate was a welcome addition and the chocolate chip cookie we've come to know and love was born and became a hit.

I'm a Cookie Freak and I don't know why I didn't know about The National Choco-Chip Cookie Day...I've tried some of the best Home-made and store bought cookies...Otis Spunkmeyer cookies are the best tasting retail Distributed Cookies I've ever eaten. I had my first Otis Cookie @ a High school Cookie sell..Maybe this was around 1994...I've been Loving them ever since.

***********************************************************************

My friends and Family give me different types of Cookies as Gifts...I try to tell them I don't do any kind of a cookie & I stay away from CHEAP off-brand Cookies. I'm a Cookieologist and I prefer my Cookies Soft & Chewy. Don't go to Family Dollar and buy me one of those Cheap Ass tin cans of Cookies and think you're doing something Big. I know what Ilike and that ain't it.

Speaking of Cheez Cake...Do you have a Captain D's in Ohio? If you do they're selling this new Cheese Cake dipped in a lite batter then Fried to a Golden brown Perfection then drizzled with a sweet sauce. They come in 4 little bars for about $3 bucks....It is an Excellent treat to eat once every 2 weeks...When you warm them up in the microwave and bite into the Crunchy crust and warm Cheese cake it tastes like Cheezy heaven....

No, I've never heard of Captain D's. I think Long John Silvers is still around. Not as many locations as there used to be. I haven't been to one since maybe the early 90s and I never hear anyone mention that they eat there.

Here in Dirty-Dirty South Carolina we have Captain D's & Long John's..Anything GREEZY we got it.....both serve Cheap Fast Food Fish...The difference is Long john's puts batter on everything, Captain D's only batter their Fish. You're right you never hear anyone say they eat @ either joint. Both are Family-friendly & Senior Citizen Friendly..The only reason long john's is surving in South Carolina is because it is attached to a KFC. So you can order a KFC wang & a Battered piece of Chicken and they'll put it in the same box....LOL....

YES!!!lovelove love You can't have chocolate chip cookies without a glass of milk. That would be just wrong!!! lol There's a Double Tree Hotel right next door to where I work. I've had their cookies a couple of times but decided to ban myself from ever stepping foot inside that place again because those cookies could very easily turn into an addiction for me. I could have very easily ended up weighing 400 lbs. Those cookies are like heaven on earth!!!horny

It is a beautiful cookie. I can feel the sugar high just looking at it.

.

.

I'd like to get to the point I don't have to feel guilty about having one of those every once in a while. Life would be horrible if you can't enjoy decadency sometimes.

If you are ever in New York City, you owe it to yourself to try a cookie from Levain Bakery.

You'll trying to put folks in a sugar coma with all these pictures. I do miss Mrs. Fields, I haven't seen one of those shops in years. Fortunately I'm kind of picky, so any cookie wouldn't do, and I don't know of any good cookie places around.
