When I was 12, my paternal grandmother gave me some Mayan(?) relics that they unearthed when building the foundation to her house.

Nothing major...they're small clay fragments...but I cherish them not only for their historic value but also as a tangible reminder of my late abuela.

Very cool. Do you have Mayan ancestry?

I dunno. shrug

Only the northwest section of Honduras was settled by legitimate Mayan states...so probably not.

I think that I have Lenca ancestry...they're more prevalent in Honduras where my dad's family was from, and he has that "look".

But the pottery pieces are detailed so I assume they're Mayan. shrug

I'll try to photowhore them later.

That's a tough one but I think right now it would be the engagement ring my mother gave me in February when I visited my parents. It was her maternal grandmother's (my great-grandmother whom I never met). It's an Art Deco style from the 1930s, with one old European cut diamond in the center and two smaller diamonds on either side. I'm normally not into diamonds but this ring is very pretty and unique, with nice carving/filligree. The problem is that I've been wearing it and now people keep asking me if I'm engaged! lol

Other than that some letters I have and my Prince vinyl & cd collection I guess. lol

The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.
