"Good Times" movie on the way!

http://www.huffingtonpost...d%3D282943

"Good Times" movie is in the works. According to Deadline.com, Scott Rudin and Sony Pictures will revive the classic 1970s CBS sitcom as a feature film.

Phil Johnston, who recently penned "Wreck-It Ralph," has been tapped to write the "Good Times" movie.

The series, which aired from 1974-79 on CBS, was a spinoff from "Maude." "Good Times" followed the Evans family in the Chicago projects and starred Esther Rolle as Florida Evans, John Amos as James Evans, Sr. and Jimmie Walker as James 'J.J.' Evans, Jr.

I know just the person who can play Florida:

"Never let nasty stalkers disrespect you. They start shit, you finish it. Go down to their level, that's the only way they'll understand. You have to handle things yourself."

The only way I would want to see it, is if they were to cast the original cast members that are still living and show what they have been doing since Wilona got a better job, Keith started playing football again, and JJ got a job as a comic book cartoonist. Kinda like a reunion movie like they did a few times with "The Brady Bunch", "Hart To Hart", "Gilligan's Island", and "The Six Million Dollar Man and Bionic Woman" reunion movies. They could cast new actors and have it set in the 1980s after the series ended and show their lives on up until today with the original actors stepping in and taking over the roles once the storyline reached the present day years.

Either that, or have the show set back in the 1970s again. A present day "Good Times" with different cast members would be horrible because it would be full of shit hop "culture". barf It wouldn't even be the same show because the culture would be completely different. With the original cast members, it would be more like the show because they're the same people, just older.

This sounds like a good idea.I don't want to see a "hip-hop styled remake" that takes place in the current times lol

I would love to see it if the original cast, including Penny was on there smile And it would have to be better than the SNL parody from when Janet was last on there.

I rather for Hollywood to stop doing remakes/reboots of 70's & 80's films AND TV sitcoms. disbelief

Agreed. Classic TV show. Who would play Janet Jackson's character?
