I heard on the news the other day someone named their kid Taquawndera or something to that effect. I'm like WTF???!!! How can you tell whether that's a male or a female by the name? eek lol

I've never understood the concept of banning a name simply because someone else became infamous while using it

A month or two back, I read a story online about a couple who named their newborn daughter "Hashtag". WTF? Who names their kid "Hastag"? disbelief Are they going to call her "Hash" for short? lol I feel sorry for her when she starts school. Kids are going to pick on her because of her weird name. Kids have a tendency to pick on anything that seems different to them.

Here's the link to the story:

http://siliconrepublic.co...r-baby-has

A girl I work with had a baby back in October. They named her Wynter. Not sure if I like that name or not. It's different, that's for sure.

RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

There was a woman in Rumania who named her son Osama simply because she liked the sound of it.

Osama is a general Middle Eastern name,

Rumania is not in the Middle East. According to the newpaper report I read, this woman didn't even know where the name came from.

Who knows, this could be a perfectly normal name in some foreign language we don't know about.

I knew a guy named Richard Head.

He was a successful insurance agent but drank himself to death. I always figured his name had something to do with that.

There is a memorial bridge in North Carolina, called the Peter Guice Memorial Bridge.

I kid you not: http://www.guice.org/pgmbnara.html

AND what is wrong with the name, Dakota?

I named my son, Dakota. It means friend or ally. I have found the name to be wonderful and it fits my son very well.

Some people wanted to be "creative" is my best answer to this.

Then again I got as much of a problem with people who rename themselves to a Bill Cosby soundalike sound effect:
