Ex-Cop Christopher Dorner
Shops For Scuba Gear
2 Days Before Murders (VIDEO)

Exclusive
0211_the_droner_launch_3
Alleged cop killer Christopher Dorner went to a Southern California sporting goods store 2 days before he began his murder spree to purchase scuba equipment ... and TMZ has obtained the surveillance video.

Dorner went to Sports Chalet in Torrance -- a beachside community in the L.A. area -- on February 1st. The video shows Dorner carrying in 2 small, yellow scuba tanks as he walks into the scuba section. Sources tell us ... Dorner got the tanks refilled with oxygen.

The video then shows Dorner leaving the scuba section with the 2 yellow tanks, along with another large, black scuba tank. Dorner then goes to the counter, and then has a friendly conversation with the cashier, at times laughing.

Dorner -- who was a member of a Naval undersea warfare unit -- pays cash for the items and then leaves.

The surveillance tape shows Dorner arriving at Sports Chalet at 9:21 PM and leaving at 9:38 PM, just as the store closed.

The bodies of the first 2 victims were found at 9 PM on February 3rd -- 48 hours after Dorner's trip to Sports Chalet.

What's really interesting ... Dorner reportedly tried stealing a boat in San Diego on February 6th ... where scuba gear might come in handy. The plan was thwarted when the prop got tangled in a rope.

Sources tell TMZ ... the U.S. Marshals went to Sports Chalet Sunday and got a copy of the surveillance video.

Law enforcement sources involved in the case have confirmed to TMZ ... the man in the video is indeed Dorner. And, as one law enforcement source put it, the video is significant because "it shows what he was up to."

EXACTLY.

Then drones become a 'tool' of law enforcement that they used to help apprehend him. Even if the drone never spotted him.

So people will start accepting that drones are for their safety. Although finding your killers doesn't really leave one safe.

Sadly people are stupid enough to believe that giving up more rights, gives them more security when it doesn't.

People will live in a police state as long as someone in authority tells them its safe. SMH.

Now THIS is what's scarey in the long run... neutral

indeed, very scary.

now for the record, I hope he does NOT kill any children or innocent people! Other than that....shrug

Today I'm a libertarian because I agree with you lol

It will be framed as a suicide because they, clearly, do not want him alive. While it is tragic that innocent people are dead, hopefully the LAPD WAKES THE F UP on this. The police are largely out of control, and not just in LA, and it is time for them to be held accountable and CHANGE. THEIR. WAYS. exclaim

sounds like you're finally coming to your senses! wink

David Perdue Shot At During Search For Fugitive Christopher Dorner

Posted: 02/11/2013 11:36 am EST

http://www.huffingtonpost..._ref=false

A third person was reportedly shot at because police believed he was suspected cop killer and fugitive Christopher Dorner.

David Perdue was on his way to catch some waves on Thursday morning when, according to his lawyer, a Torrance, Calif. police cruiser "slammed into his pickup and officers opened fire," reports the Los Angeles Times.

The bullets missed Perdue, but his attorney, Robert Sheahen, said his client suffered a concussion and hurt his shoulder, making it temporarily impossible for him to work at his job as a baggage handler at LAX. Perdue's car was also totaled, Sheahen told the Times.

The Torrance Police Department said the incident was a case of mistaken identity. Officers thought Perdue's truck was Dorner's pickup.

The department issued this statement to the Times:

"The circumstances of the incident known to the responding officers would have led a reasonable officer under normal circumstances -- and these were far from normal circumstances -- to believe that fellow officers were being shot at and that the vehicle traveling toward them posed a serious risk.

"In the split seconds available to them," the statement continued, "action was appropriate to intervene and stop the actions of the driver of that vehicle."

Sheahen told the Los Angeles Daily News that the officers' actions were "violent and reckless."

The paper notes that "Perdue is a thin white man who looks nothing like Dorner" who is black and heavier set.

"In light of the officer's attempt to kill Mr. Perdue Mr. and Mrs. Perdue would like to know what, if any, disciplinary action the Torrance Police Department intends to take against the officers involved," Sheahen said in a letter sent to the department and obtained by the Daily News. "They would also like to know what the (department) intends to do to make sure that their community is not endangered like this in the future."

The incident is still under investigation, according to the Times.

The shooting is the second case of mistaken identity associated with the search for Dorner.

Also on Thursday, two women were shot at by Los Angeles Police officers because their truck was mistaken for Dorner's. At the time, there was a report that Dorner had been spotted in the neighborhood.

KPCC reported on Sunday that the two women were released from the hospital, according to their attorney.

Dorner's actual truck was discovered "deserted and in flames" on the side of Bear Mountain, Calif. on Thursday, according to ABC News.

Authorities have offered a $1 million reward for information that leads to the arrest of Dorner, a former LAPD cop and Navy reservist accused of killing three people.

sad

wtf? i know the lapd is in a serious man-hunt mode to capture former officer chris dorner, but this is starting to be kinda like a scene from the over-zealous and suspicious cops in a scene from 'the negotiator' move, starring samuel l. jackson. like someone is saying "take him down," regardless.

innocent people are being gravely affected by the lack of leadership metted out by a few crazy law enforcement personnel. will they be fired?

note: i'm still in the mind-set that chris dorner should be captured. his killing people for revenge is not good.

excerpt:

LOS ANGELES—David Perdue was on his way to sneak in some surfing before work Thursday morning when police flagged him down. They asked who he was and where he was headed, then sent him on his way.

Seconds later, Perdue’s attorney said, a Torrance police cruiser slammed into his pickup and officers opened fire; none of the bullets struck Perdue.

His pickup, police later explained, matched the description of the one belonging to Christopher Jordan Dorner — the ex-cop who has evaded authorities after allegedly killing three and wounding two more. But the pickups were different makes and colors. And Perdue looks nothing like Dorner: He’s several inches shorter and about a hundred pounds lighter. And Perdue is white; Dorner is black.

^ As am I. But people acting like this is a discovery that the LAPD is foul really haven't followed on how corrupt it's always been. What was people like Dorner expecting when they first joined the force?

Anyway, I posted this at P&R but I think it's good posting it here:

New manifesto from another former LAPD officer - former LAPD Officer Joe Jones posted the following to his Facebook with this picture:

I know most of you who personally who me are in disbelief of the partial story I will tell today. A story that has been suppressed for about 18 years, But lives strong everyday of my life.

I without hesitation would like to send my condolences to the Victims who were lost and their families during this tragic situation. I would also like to send my condolences and well wishes to the many former and current Officers, as well as Citizen’s and their families who lost the lives and souls of loved one’s to the injustices of Police Corruption, Scandal, Lies, Deception and Brutality.

Unlike Former Officer Dorner, I fear dying; But I also fear living in a society where Innocent people are dying for no reason. A society where pain so great can be afflicted to people who have to desire to live right and treat people right and then be punished for doing right.

They say we all look alike. In very few cases this of course is true. But in most cases it is not. I feel a resemblance to Dorner, (See Photos) However several people who have no resemblance to Dorner have been shot due to the fear of what is taking place. I DO NOT WANT TO BE SHOT FOR CRIMES I DID NOT COMMIT!. Neither does anyone else.

To preface my story I will say this: Just like former Officer Christopher Dorner I used to smile a lot. I loved everyone. I was voted Friendliest Senior of my Sr. Class in High School. I always believed in the system and never got into any trouble. I loved hard and gave to all I could. After Joining the LAPD in 1989 I quickly found out that the world and society had major flaws. I had flaws as well for ever believing that our system of government was obligated to do the right thing. his is what I believed as a young Officer. Without going into major detail, I need you to first assume that I would not surface 16 years later with lies about a situation that has me with PTSD to this very day. The pain forces me to speak as I have yet to shake the Ill’s of my experience as an LAPD Officer. Of course I have moved on physically. But mentally and emotionally I still live with flaws.

I can’t go into re-living the emotions of what I went through so I will say this. I had my home viciously attacked by a gunman with my family and myself inside the house. No arrests were made and my family and I Received very little support. I had my Civil Rights violated on several occasions. I was falsely arrested at gunpoint by the Sheriffs as an Officer who ID’d himself and was conspired against by both LAPD and the Sheriffs when my Civil case went to Trial. I was falsely accused on more than one occasion and simply placed in a position that the trust was so compromised that I could no longer wear the Uniform. Also know there were many more episodes. All of these issues are well documented and I present them not to be a Whistle blower, However to hope that one would not assume that all of what is being said is Lies as presented by Dorner. I don’t know him, But I know me. I will say from my experience, If a person knows they were wrong it is easier to move on without anger. Seems that Dorner obviously could not move on… Could I just be content and move on with my life and not say anything? Yes…Then I would feel that I for once had my chance to speak on something that hurts me to this day and I did nothing to arouse thought or provoke reform. This is what I hope comes from this whole situation:

1. Families that lost someone to this tragedy find the peace that only God can give at this terrible time.

2. Citizens of Los Angeles be mindful of this fearful time to be an Officer and comply vigorously so that you are not the victim of an Officer on high alert.

3. Government and Politicians please be diligent in the responsibility of creating Laws that protect those who could be the victim of a conspiracy. Never allow the door to be shut on the Truth.

4. Honest and Fair LAPD & All Agencies: Keep doing what you are doing to protect citizens and be safe while you are doing so. We need you and I would hope that you do not allow the Bureaucratic drama and Stress to kill your morale as I know it can.

5. Unethical LAPD & all Agencies: Whatever is was that lead you down this path, Pray to somebody’s God to forgive you and begin to remove unethical methods to your policing style. Always think what if it were you, How would you feel?..How would you like if you were falsely accused and your life, lively-hood and career was taken from you? How would you like if someone was beating on you just because they felt they could get away with it? You are no better the criminals you took and oath to arrest when you do what you do!

6. Chistopher Dorner. The 1st thing I would say to him is, I feel your pains!…But you are going about this the wrong way. To take innocent lives could never be the answer to anything. I say this as a Man who experienced the same pain, betrayal, anger, suffering, litigation and agony that you did in many ways, Only I didn’t get Fired. I just choose to go a different route. My heart still suffered that same shock, I was still left to try and put the pieces back together. The disbelief that people could conspire and cause you to loose something you loved so dearly was still there. I lost my Career, I lost my Family, I lost my Dignity, I lost my Trust…But I am here now to hopefully one day see change…Bro, Don’t kill anymore Innocent people. Your point has been made. Clearly. They know you mean business, The whole world knows. Refrain from any further wrong doing and do what you must to salvage your Soul. Whatever that means to you. Just remember that God is a forgiving God.

In conclusion I say to people who knew none of this about me that one day I will have to reflect on when was the time to speak. When I see the potential for innocent lives to be lost…The time is Now!…JJ

"Oh that's just lovely" she says in her Dr. Beckett voice.

Now Mexican police are involved.

— U.S. and Mexican authorities are looking for a former sailor and cop turned revenge killer in the border region, even as one official said Tuesday that there's no confirmation the suspect has crossed into Mexico.

On Monday afternoon, agents from the Baja California State Preventive Police raided a hotel in the Zona Norte area of Tijuana in search of Christopher Dorner, the fired Los Angeles police officer suspected of killing three people and issuing a manifesto outlining his plans to kill the families of those who allegedly wronged him.

Mexican officials were acting on a tip that Dorner might have been at Hotel Tapatio near the U.S. border fence, but eventually left after not locating him. Agents found an African-American person at the hotel, but it was not Dorner, said Alfredo Arenas, international liaison for the Baja California State Preventive Police.

"There's no evidence whatsoever that he's crossed into either Tijuana or Mexicali," Arenas said Tuesday.

With a $1 million award for Dorner's capture, "people are just calling in every time they see an African American," he added.

I almost wanted to say this to her but I stopped short. But yeah I don't understand this. Defending a lunatic that's not even standing up for what's right but only gaining his own attention to be the star of his crime and have the LAPD be his co-star. I'm also surprised that SOME folks have excused Dorner's own killings (people who claim to be liberals or libertarians). It's like "really?" I mean it's like some are agreeing with him to kill family members of those who "wronged him". It seems "all colors" rather than white are at fault for why Dorner got put out of the LAPD!

It just stood out because I've had people around me saying if he gets to Mexico he'll be scot-free. I keep saying I highly doubt it, this is a whole other arena right now, this isn't some plain ole ordinary murderer, this is someone who is willing to kill cops, any of them that get in his way AND some of their families. They got enough of those problems down there, they don't want one more.

He said he would kill anybody connected with the officers, that meant relatives of officers. Relatives that had nothing at all to do with what happened to him. That manifesto would've been cool if he hadn't include all that. How is killing cops gonna solve anything? Plus you were wrong when you said you prayed he didn't shoot innocent folks (before the cop shooting that just went on a few minutes ago) and he did. Maybe you didn't say you supported it but in a way with you agreeing with every word he said in his manifesto, it definitely sounds like you did. Sorry if it sounds generalizing but I don't know why you would condone that just for Dorner to prove a point that "cops are bad". Plus why would you wouldn't want anyone finding him? That's only gonna make things worse. California already had drones over its head looking for that nut.

A state Fish & Game ranger apparently fired on the vehicle in the vicinity Highway 38 near Seven Oaks Road and the man returned fire.

The man then got out of the vehicle and ran.

San Bernardino county officials said deputies were actively searching for the man, using air support, to determine whether the suspect is Dorner.

It's not confirmed, but we'll see.

He's been getting around.

  • Sunday, Feb. 3: An assistant women's college basketball coach and her fiance are found shot to death in their car in Irvine, Calif. Police learn later the woman was the daughter of a retired Los Angeles police captain who represented Dorner in disciplinary hearings that resulted in his dismissal from the force.
  • Monday, Feb. 4: Some of Dorner's belongings, including police equipment, are found in a trash bin in suburban San Diego, linking him to Irvine killings.
  • Wednesday, Feb. 6: Police announce finding Dorner's manifesto online.
  • 10:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 6: A man matching Dorner's description makes a failed attempt to steal a boat from a San Diego marina. An 81-year-old man on the vessel is tied up but otherwise unharmed.
  • 1:30 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 7: LAPD officers, protecting person named in manifesto, chase a vehicle they believe is Dorner's. One officer is grazed in the forehead by a bullet during a shootout, and the gunman flees.

A short time later, a shooter believed to be Dorner ambushes two Riverside police officers during a routine patrol. One officer is killed, and the other critically injured.

  • 2:20 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 7: A shuttle bus driver turns in a wallet with an LAPD badge and a picture ID of Dorner to San Diego police. The wallet was found less than five miles from the boat, near San Diego International Airport.
  • 5 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 7: LAPD officers guarding a manifesto target in the Los Angeles suburb of Torrance open fire on a truck they mistakenly believe to be Dorner's. A mother and daughter delivering the newspaper are injured.

A short time later, Torrance police are involved in a second shooting involving a different truck they also mistake for Dorner's. Nobody is hurt.

  • 8:35 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 7: Police find a burned-out pickup truck near the Big Bear ski area in the San Bernardino Mountains. Six hours later, authorities identify it as Dorner's.
  • 9:40 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 7: Naval Base Point Loma in San Diego is locked down after a Navy worker reports seeing someone who resembles Dorner. Military officials later said Dorner had indeed checked into a hotel on base earlier in the week - on Tuesday - but had left on Wednesday.
  • 4 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 7: Authorities search a Las Vegas-area home belonging to Dorner and leave with several boxes of items. They say no weapons were found but decline to disclose what was discovered.
  • Friday, Feb. 8: Dozens of searchers hunt for Dorner in the freezing, snowy San Bernardino Mountains after losing his footprints near the site where the truck was found.

Authorities search Dorner's mother's house in La Palma and collect 10 bags of evidence and also took five electronic items for examination. Police also search a storage locker in Buena Park.
  • Saturday, Feb. 9: Helicopters equipped with heat-seeking technology resume search for Dorner in the mountains near Big Bear. Authorities reveal that weapons and camping gear were found in Dorner's burned truck.
  • Sunday, Feb. 10: Authorities announce $1 million reward for information leading to Dorner's arrest.
  • Monday, Feb. 11: Riverside County prosecutors charge Dorner with murdering a police officer and the attempted murder of three other officers in a potential death penalty case. Authorities receive more than 700 tips since the reward was announced.

If that was Dorner, he's gone hiding again.

Interesting. I doubt he'll surrender if this is true.

Shorty, I've always liked and respected you but this post is the worst thing I've ever read on the org.

pfft! if that is the worst thing you've ever read on the org then you've been reading with your eyes closed. Please.

the first part you bolded...I'm not even sure what you are upset about? it's true! the LAPD is shooting at people who don't even closely fill the bill. why? because dorners got dirt...a lot of fucking dirt on many folx, and many more know their hands are dirty too. They want him dead...imho.

as for the other parts....I didn't say I hope he kills lots of innocent people....I just said I hope they don't find him. I hope many of the dirty cops are sweating bullets (no pun intended) and they will continue to sweat bullets untill they kill him.

Did you read his manifesto? seems as though you didn't. He said, all they gotta do is come clean....

I bolded the first part because the cops AREN'T shooting at anyone just so they can kill one guy.

I do know his "manifesto" said he was going to kill cops and their families. I couldn't give a flying f*** what else it says - killing innocent people is wrong. And he's already killed at least two innocent people for sure. Plus, how do you know that even one iota of what he wrote is true? How do you know ANY of those cops are dirty? Because a cold-blooded murderer told you they were?

I don't trust a word said by someone who would willingly kill other's family members just to make a f***ing point.

I am frankly disgusted.

Really. Because I think the only real point he's proving is that he's a crazy son of a bitch.

Yep. He'll be a dead man before tonight. The cops won't cover this up. They'll say it: "WE KILLED CHRISTOPHER DORNER".

Is this kind of rage anymore different than the kids who go into schools and shoot up people? People who deem themselves wronged and probably treated like shit in the process.

Every person I ever fired was done with care and understanding. I always wanted them to succeed and not fail and that was reinforced through words and actions on my part. This could curtail some of the rage that is out there, but crazy can pop out of anywhere.

99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

That's more likely to happen because of the way Dorner is going about it. If he was so worried about what the LAPD would do to him, he could have easily turned himself in to any other police department in the country or the state police from any state or the FBI etc.

Dorner's actions don't indicate that his top priority is to expose the LAPD, his actions scream of revenge and narcissism.

"Never let nasty stalkers disrespect you. They start shit, you finish it. Go down to their level, that's the only way they'll understand. You have to handle things yourself."
