FYI, I absolutely hate winter.

I don't like fall, and I don't care for early spring.

I'm a summer guy. I absolutely, positively, hate winter.

However, I wouldn't mind about 2 weeks of cold weather like Florida gets. lol

Here in Thailand, it just never gets cold. That's kind of depressing.

But the idea of week after week of cold weather is.....depressing.

I've always loved winter, I love the dark

I love the 4 Season

I'm in NY state and where I live, our winters are shorter and shorter, we didn't get snow till the day after Christmas then the next week it was back in the 50's, this week the temp dropped, but it's going to warm up again

I don't like HOT summers, I like to be active and when it's too hot I can't do anything, I have oily skin and humidity feels like I put on a wet sweater

My favorite season is the Fall

I was okay with winter when I was younger, but the older I get, the more I hate it. I'm sitting in the office today and my feet are freezing. And I have boots and socks on.

I look out the window and it's 19º and snowing. Earlier this week, I had to make sure the gas tank on my car was full, to ensure my gas line wouldn't freeze in the sub-zero temperatures.

At least I don't have to shovel, like I did when I was a kid. I'd have to hurt somebody. lol

I don't really mind the cold. It's snow I hate. People forget how to drive when there's moisture on the ground.

After experiencing -35 degrees in New Mexico last month, I don't think anything is very cold any more.

We were cruising down the highway and my windshield was dirty. So stupidly I hit the washer and the dang stuff froze on the windshield before the wipers could wipe it off!

My wife laughed at me, as I was all hunched over, trying to see out of the gaps between the frozen fluid on the windshield.

Thank God it was daylight, LOL.

I shoveled very little in front of our garage and let me tell you - shoveling snow is highly over rated!

Ugh!

THAT REMINDS ME...gotta go out and get some smaller shovels that the kids can use for the next snowfall.

I'm generally the opposite. Since I don't really drive and up till this year hadn't had to shovel in forever I like the snow. It's pretty.

But I hate the bitter cold.

Of course, I've learned to accept winter. I love spring fall and summer, I just don't like the bitter cold of winter. Or the darkness - it's dark when I leave for work in the morning, dark when I get home.

But if I didn't live through the winter I wouldn't appreciate the spring so darn much. So there is that.

I can't complain at all about this winter its been damn near perfect, no snow. Hell, I can deal with the cold and it hasn't been all that cold either; if we have another winter/spring as we did last year. cool

My sisters and I shoveled all the time when we were kids. In fact, I think I was probably in college before my dad bought a snowblower. (They were a big deal in those days - still very expensive.)

And we had to get up and shovel before school. My dad had a hard-and-fast rule: nobody was to drive on our driveway until the snow had been cleared. The driveway was on a hill and if those packed-down car tracks froze, my parents couldn't drive into the garage. If that happened, he sent us out there with scrapers and wouldn't let us back into the house until every speck of ice and packed snow was cleared. lol

It won't hurt the kids any - and it's just part of being in a family (as my parents always told us).

When we hit -35 in Angel Fire it didn't feel that bad, but there was absolutely no wind. I'd imagine wind chill taking the temperature down that low is absolutely miserable.

I have to say, though - I'm better with the cold than I am with extreme heat. I mean...you can always bundle up more, but there's a limit to how much you can take off without getting arrested. lol

I did a play at an outdoor venue last summer - and we rehearsed outside on a couple of 100º+ days. It was horrible - took me hours to get cooled off afterward. Thank goodness, the heat wave had broken before the play opened. I'd've sweated my make-up off before curtain!

There you go!

I always shoveled snow, mowed the lawn AND raked the leaves. Landscapers? talk to the hand

Also - I used to have to change the TV channels for my folks (yeah, I'm THAT old). grandpa

There's an unspoken rule out here that when then temp hits below zero, you need to find a nerdy guy to sleep with to keep warm.

I still mow my own yard. I enjoy it. I like the way it looks when I'm done. Plus, I can listen to my own music as loud as I want for an hour or two!

But I don't do flowerbeds.

It’s -40 C with wind chill this morning, and it’s been hovering in that area all week (we hit -45 Monday morning). It doesn’t bother me too much. I walk to and from work (1/2 hr each way) and I’m usually comfortable. I do have to cross a bridge on my way here, and when you have a wind howling in your face in -40 temps, it’s a little difficult to put a smiley face on that, but most of the time such things don’t bother me in the least. I’ve always been more of a cold weather person, & I generally find it a lot easier to deal with -40 than +30 C.
