Lions Head Coach Schwartz - LIAR?

Jim Schwartz said, at the end of the Titans v Lions grid iron battle

today, that he wanted his team, the Lions, to kick a field goal in

overtime to tie the game. This is after his team went for a quarter-

back sneak to get a 1st down on a fourth and one and failed to

do so, thus ending the game 44-41 Titans.

Hunh?

If you see your team lined up to go for a fourth and one and the

kicking team is not out on the field, (this easily identifiable because

the kicker wasn't on the field) how could you say that you wanted

your team to kick a field goal to tie the game but that it wasn't relayed

properly?

Schwartz threw his team under the bus in order to save face in his

moronic decision to go for it on fourth and one instead of kicking the

field goal. He wanted the win, not the tie.

Yep, dumb decision by the coach...if his wishes aren't followed, then we have a bigger problem don't we?

Wasted a fantastic comeback by his team.

Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Yezzir. Either he's a moron or he's lost control of the team, certainly the offense.

You see your offensive team lining up to go for it on 4th and one and you don't

call a timeout? And at the end of the game during the press conference, you allude

to the fact that there was a "mis-communication" and that what you really wanted

was to kick a field goal.

Shit of bull.

I heard him say this morning that they were trying to draw the other team offsides, and were supposed to call a timeout at 1 second left on the play clock if that didn't work. The ball was never supposed to be centered.

That makes sense.

It does? On fourth and one, when you're down in overtime and needing a

field to tie, why try to draw the team offsides? Kick the field goal and live

to fight again. Trying to draw the team offsides indicates that Schwartz

wanted to score a touchdown instead of tying the game. That takes balls,

but last night while watching NFL Sunday Night (whatever that show is called),

he said that a field goal was what he wanted but somehow his call was ignored.

I dunno, dude. I think Schwartz had a brain fart, along with the rest of his

coaching staff and muffed this one up. This loss will hurt them later in this

year.
