So a company is aligning itself with the word of God. And they're sticking their necks out to do it. So the fuck WHAT if the people in charge of the MUPPETS can't handle this?

It all comes down to: are you willing to accept the Bible as truth?

If you're going to accept one passage as truth then you must accept the whole thing.

Such as we must stone to death women who aren't virgins when they get married. And kill children who "dishonor" their mother and father. And that slavery is A-OK.

Fucking right.

Nope. That book was written (by men) for societies that existed a few millenia and some centuries ago. The idea that it should be applied verbatim to any society today is preposterous. Why don't we go ALL the way back then and start dragging women around by their hair?

Bible bashers on the org tend to not have a clue what they are talking about. They think it's a huge list of things that make God mad and stories of him banishing people to hell. In a way I guess I can understand your frustration and even anger - I wouldn't want to love God either, if this was my impression of him. I'm sorry that it might be that way for you.

Fortunately for me, I grew up being educated on what the bible really is. A big long ass collective document and testimonial about how much God loves his people and wants a relationship with his creation. I'm glad it's long, and I'm glad that it's all good. Instead of bashing it, when you really don't understand it, how about....reading it and studying it. The gospels are a very good place to start.

I was born with an urge to eat chicken sandwiches and waffle fries. I am not going to change my behavior, and pretend to be someone I am not, just to conform to society's ideas about what is acceptable.

You're making a false assumption here that people who disagree with the Bible don't understand it or haven't studied it. I've studied it plenty, and some of it I agree with and some of it I don't. There are wonderful things to take away from it just like any holy book. And there are also plenty of things that I don't think should be taken away from it. Especially when they involve disrespecting or degrading another human being, or justifying bigotry.

Jesus very specifically hated society's ideas. Chicken sandwiches rule!

Even if there is a God and Jesus died for my sins, I still don't see why I'm supposed to care? My life plan is to be a good person and then die. Once I'm dead, they'll burn my corpse and put me in a tacky urn. I'll end up in my nephew's toolshed probably. After a few decades I will be forgotten about as my family and friends also die and my life will be rendered meaningless in the grand scheme of things. It doesn't bother me at all either. smile That's just what life is.

Even though Chik-Fil-A hates me, I would still eat there because I like their food. We don't have them here in Maine though. sad I can only get it when I'm at an airport or something. At least they still let us eat there! The Red Cross won't even take my blood (which is completely free of disease by the way) since they also hate gays.

If someone opens up a pro-marriage-equality chicken sandwich restaurant across the street from my office, I will give it a shot. Otherwise I'm sticking with Chick Fil-A. Sorry.

You really believe the Red Cross hates gays, and that's why they won't take your blood?

Let's say he falls in love and wants to get married in a state that doesn't recongize same sex marriage. It's not a stretch to think several 'Christian' companies have influenced such decisions.

Would he buy delciious sandwhiches from a company owned by David Duke and like minded racists? I just find that argument that what a large 4.1 billion dollar company says has no affect on his life.

Dude's just ignorant. And newsflash buddy: your family and friends who disagree with you being gay don't respect you when they're looking down on you for who you are. Just because someone's not outwardly disprespecting you doesn't mean they're showing you respect.

That's what I'm saying lol not making an effort to even get into it today since they picked today to show support or protest. What I find interesting is Target and other stores are getting into the debate now-interesting.
