ONE. Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.
TWO ... Marry a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get older, their conversational skills will be as important as any other.
THREE. Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want.
FOUR . When you say, 'I love you ,' mean it.
FIVE. When you say, 'I'm sorry,' look the person in the eye.
SIX ... Be engaged at least six months before you get married.
SEVEN.. Believe in love at first sight.
EIGHT. Never laugh at anyone's dream. People who don't have dreams don't have much.
NINE . Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it's the only way to live life completely.
TEN. ... In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling.
ELEVEN. Don't judge people by their relatives.
TWELVE. Talk slowly but think quickly.
THIRTEEN. When someone asks you a question you don't want to answer, smile and ask, 'Why do you want to know?'
FOURTEEN. Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk..
FIFTEEN. Say 'bless you' when you hear someone sneeze.
SIXTEEN. When you lose, don't lose the lesson !
SEVENTEEN. Remember the three R's: Respect for self; Respect for others; and responsibility for all your actions.
EIGHTEEN.. Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship..

I never heard "don't judge people by their relatives" before.

If anything people who are dating seriously are told to check out the relatives of the one they are falling in love with,

Well I had a great week. Part of it was spent out of town at a job-related conference which I found to be very beneficial, however, today I received results from a certification exam (again, job related) that were less than pleasing. I found that I didn't pass it. I can re-take it, but I was extremely disappointed and hurt. I feel defeated. Yet I walked away from the conference with these new ideas of how I could approach what I do with a renewed confidence...only to get shitted on from the results of my certification test.

I can retake the test, however, the test was so intense. I'm a fighter and I don't give up on things...but man I just felt a major blow today.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I think in the letter it said that more detailed results would be forthcoming. I only read the letter one time and just left it on my counter. I don't want to read it anymore today. I'll probably get up the nerve to read it again tomorrow evening. I took the exam nearly a month and a half ago...so I've been really anxious about receiving the results, then when I finally got them, and it was my worst fears realized, I just felt so low. The next sitting for the exam is in December.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Today I am 6998 days away from my 70th birthday.

That may sound like crazy talk but part of my letting go of all that went wrong with the first 50 years of my life is to realistically look at what I may have left and what I can hope to achieve in that time,

I can see where that saying is coming from. It seems to work both ways. Folks can also jump blindly into a situation because they're overly impressed by the relatives.

When you keep going, and you pass the test the next time, or the time after that, you will feel so strong. Because when you achieve something you had to struggle for, the feeling of accomplishment is extra fulfilling!

Feel sorry for your self for one day. Tommorow you can pick up the pieces and move on again. That's the way you'll get there. Step by step.

Hey Aussies,

Why did I not know there was a Christmas Island?

I had to fill out some sort of form on a computer and I had to pick my country and one of my choices was "christmas island". I Googled it and found out that it wasn't a country but a part of Australia. Maybe its like your version of Puerto Rico?

God, there is sooooo much I still don't know.

I am really embarassed that I don't know Georgraphy better than I do. I can name and identify on the map most if not all the states but beyond the U.S. I quickly loose ground.

This is really starting to get to me. This weekend I buy a seedless watermelon. I get it home and cut into it and the damned thing stank to living hell, there is no visible indication of rot, in fact it looked barely ripe, but it just stank like full blown rot. That's the second time that's happened, this year. Not to mention I haven't tasted a decent one in 3-4 years, I hardly try buying them anymore. But the things are selling like hotcakes. I'm so sad seeing what I'm seeing.
