Seriously though, after seeing Madonna's "...Secret" documentary and watching her in "Mother" mode,

It's likely just my imagination ,but I don't see this sitting well with Mom at all. Madge may be the been there done that Kaballah hippie these days, but she has a certain tone in speaking to her children, that at a moment's notice quickly reverts straight back to Midwestern, Italian Catholic mother who is not going to tolerate foolishness. Reminds me of the no-nonsense moms from the neighborhood of my kiddie days. Those women were lovey dovey mamas on one side, but tough as nails and don't take any stuff. Lourdes better watch out

I'd just like to hope that cigarettes are the WORST of her bad habits.

When you say, that I feel the Generation Gap heavily weighing on me. It's crazy to think of what teenagers her age can get ahold of nowadays! In the 80's the very worst of what was going on was smoking cigarettes to look cool, or sneaking into your parents bar to steal their party booze. Even weed smokers were kind of like, outcasts in the bigger scope of teenage life.
