Hmm, how do I say this hypothetically?

If I have to really leave the house, I'd play the CDs in my car. nod

CDs sound better in my car than my mp3 player. Unless it's a long road trip, I prefer to listen to a CD while driving also.

The chair has been behaving quite uncooperatively, I'm sad to report. Chris and Phil (mdiver) have been working diligently to get it on the road, but it looks like the previous owners kept it in storage so long, with cords crimped and connections going stale, that it's going to need some professional help. We're trying to save up for that.

sad

Yeah, and usually CDs is all I listen to. I no longer listen to the radio for example.

They are in some ways better than reading actual books.

The batteries last over a month, and they are rechargeable. They are light and easy to hold. The screen is not lit up like a computer screen, so they don't hurt your eyes (But you need light to read them just like a book). There is a little glare, but not nearly as bad as a computer screen.

The kindle is like a piece of slate and chalk compared to an ipad, the ipads screen can be adjusted to represent the look of paper. Unlike the kindles need for a candle the ipad has a backlit screen.... hah! kindle indeed.

Look, they are two different things. I'm not trying to say surfing the web on a Kindle is worth anyone's time, but I would much rather read a book on a kindle than an iPad.

A backlit screen is a huge drawback IMO not to mention the iPad is heavy!

By my question you will know my answer. What's the difference between and Ipod and an Ipad? I do have a cell phone, but I bought it several years ago at Kmart, I belive. It's one of those Virgin "throwaway" or "pay as you go" phones. I'm an old broad, so I don't need all the bells and whistles of today's youthful generation. Plus, I can't justify spending $50-$75 a month for stuff I would barely use. I don't talk on the phone that much anyway, and I'd much rather surf the net on a pc that I can freakin SEE! grandpa

The differences are mostly in the size of the display which is important if you want to read e-books. But if music it is that is more important, iPod Touch is much better for you as it is more handy and easier to carry along.

1. The iPad acts as a media player on the go.

2. The iPod touch is pocket friendly and can easily fit in your jacket pocket. This means you can browse on the go without worrying it will fall.

3. The iPad is more reliable since it has dual-core processor.

4. iPad has longer battery charge 10hrs.

Apparently aux line-in is inferior to USB in getting the sound in to you car stereo (so the car stereo salesman told me lol ) there shouldn't be a huge difference if you ripped your CDs on 320, but you could def be losing quality using the headphone socket on your iPod as a line out. My car stereo has some function that compensates for over compression in the mp3s. It does sound better but I have no clue how it does it. You're not using the cassette adapter to get line in are you? whofarted I doubt that is optimal nutty

My car is very old so the cassette adapter is exactly what I use to play the mp3 player. So when I play mp3s, I hear tape hiss. confused

I got myself a Kindle (the one with the keyboard) for Christmas, and so far it has been really worth it!

Passed on the Ipad, because honestly I don't need all those functions, I just wanted something that would encourage me to read more and so far it has been doing just that smile.

Screen looks nice and soft, super lightweight, battery lasts for a month or 2 and its nice being able to order a book anytime (though I do still prefer paper)...but this is nice for books that I want to be able to have with me at random times.

If you will, so will I

I don't own any Apple products.

I have a flip cell phone that doesn't even have internet access on it. I have no interest in an iPhone or any other smart phone. I don't care about being able to check my email or access the internet from my phone. shrug

I have a Zune to play music (I got it for free), but it's going to give out soon and Microsoft no longer makes mp3 players. I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I don't want an iPod. I actually listen to the radio at work sometimes, and I can do this with my Zune.

The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

highfive I have a Zune that I got for free too. I say get another one used or something. Mine came from a pawn shop and I've had it for 4 years now.

Though, something new probably would be a more reliable bet I guess

My Amazon 1-Click Ordering is linked to a credit card that we've already run way up because we've been using it to pay bills as we're both unemployed.

It's soooo easy to just press "Buy" on an awesome-looking book, and be able to start devouring it IMMEDIATELY!

over here u can go to the post office an get an instant visa card - put a couple of hundred dollars on it and then only use it 4 internet purchases, that way no one gets your info and u dont use money u dont have!!!!

Laugh at the kindle?? Humph.

I have BOTH. I really wanted the kindle fire. The family talk me into an ipad 2. We got it. It is too big. When I am holding it wanting to read a kindle book, I have to use both hands to hold.

Sort of like a magazine except it is heavier than a mag, and much thinner than a hardcover book. So my hand is holding this slighly heavy thing at an awkard angle and my hands get tired.

I defiantly went out and bought a kindle fire the very next week. It is the perfect size. Like a paperback.

The cover I bought with it can be folded back like a paperback cover. It is perfect. I got the amazon prime so I can stream free movies and borrow fairly new (still on best sellers list ) kindle books for FREE.

Ipad 3 should be offered in 2 sizes, current size and something like the kindle. I put that thing in my handbag... totally portable.

Ipad2 is like a touch screen laptop.
