I just got rid of my Razor last year and purchased another cheap flip! I still buy CDs. My b-day present last year was the iPad....which has become a big Prince photo album! I have a total of three aps on it and have no desire to purchase a bunch of nonsense. If the game is free I play it until it says purchase, then I remove it. I'm a gadget woman so yeah I have the gammit iPod: Nano, Touch(2g/4g), Shuffle & iPad. I love these damn things, its border line pathetic. My iPad has become my music studio & cable TV on the go. I have lil' if any music on it and I'm not all that big on games. Most if not all of my apps on my Touch are music production related.

And dangerous.
My Amazon 1-Click Ordering is linked to a credit card that we've already run way up because we've been using it to pay bills as we're both unemployed.
It's soooo easy to just press "Buy" on an awesome-looking book, and be able to start devouring it IMMEDIATELY!

over here u can go to the post office an get an instant visa card - put a couple of hundred dollars on it and then only use it 4 internet purchases, that way no one gets your info and u dont use money u dont have!!!!

Good advice. This is the first credit card I've ever used, specifically because I do not trust myself.

Likewise, we can also walk into any bank and get a pre-paid Visa gift card that you can use for online purchases.
I have to remember to do that so I don't overspend. By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

I wouldn't mind owning an ipod, but don't care much about the rest. I'm not a gadget person at all.

By my question you will know my answer. What's the difference between and Ipod and an Ipad? I do have a cell phone, but I bought it several years ago at Kmart, I belive. It's one of those Virgin "throwaway" or "pay as you go" phones. I'm an old broad, so I don't need all the bells and whistles of today's youthful generation. Plus, I can't justify spending $50-$75 a month for stuff I would barely use. I don't talk on the phone that much anyway, and I'd much rather surf the net on a pc that I can freakin SEE!

No, I don't own any of these things.
I own a very old and simple cell phone and a laptop that's 6 years old. I don't have any interest in buying any of these latest and greatest time wasters.

Awww, I'm so sorry. When did this happen? Last time I heard from you guys was when you were getting your chair and you both were working (I thought).
You like the Kindle, huh? I was thinking about getting one, but I was afraid I wouldn't be able to read it comfortably with my poor eyesight. Plus, does glare affect the screen viewing? Is it heavy? Does it eat batteries?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
^^^I don't really need an iphone or ipad, but I might just get a Kindle.
They are in some ways better than reading actual books.
The batteries last over a month, and they are rechargeable. They are light and easy to hold. The screen is not lit up like a computer screen, so they don't hurt your eyes (But you need light to read them just like a book). There is a little glare, but not nearly as bad as a computer screen. What do you listen to when you leave the house? Do you bring the CDs with you?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Hmm, how do I say this hypothetically?
If I have to really leave the house, I'd play the CDs in my car.

The Kindle is awesome! It's not backlit at all, so there is zero glare. You can read it in bright sunlight. It looks almost exactly like paper and ink; it's really cool. (I have the plain Kindle)
As long as you keep wireless turned off, the battery charge lasts a very long time. I read it for several hours daily, and only need to charge it about once a week.
I've been out of work since November. I could no longer physically do it.
The chair has been behaving quite uncooperatively, I'm sad to report. Chris and Phil (mdiver) have been working diligently to get it on the road, but it looks like the previous owners kept it in storage so long, with cords crimped and connections going stale, that it's going to need some professional help. We're trying to save up for that.
