For The Shoe Lovin’ Ladies: Would You Rock These Stillettos Made From Dead Animals???

This is kinda gross:

This bizarre new range of shoes may make the owner feel like they have one foot in the grave – they are made from dead animals. Designer Iris Schieferstein, 45, spends months creating high heel horse hooves, stilettos from snake skins and sandals sculpted from doves. In one particularly weird pair, the rearing doves have been stuffed and the and the wearer has to slide their toes between the bird’s legs.

The horse boots feature the hoof still intact with a bone used for a heel. Iris collects the dead animals from her local butcher in Berlin, Germany, including dead horses, which are used for sausages in the country.

Those are hideous!

I haven’t stopped buying leather altogether (though I’ve cut down considerably over the years) as despite not eating meat, I accept that other folks do, and the leather we use generally comes from cows slaughtered for food. At least there is less waste.

But this is ridiculous. And gross. sad

I went to buy cowboy boots when I was in Texas. It seemed a great souvenir. As I was trying on a different boots, the salesman started telling me the different animals that were killed for each pair – frogs, snakes, manta rays, etc. That man talked himself OUT of a sale. lol

I'm pretty sure all my shoes are made from dead animals (to some degree). My sole objection to these (no pun intended) is that they're just plain hideous. disbelief

when i get shoes i try to get plain leather - i never go 4 snake skin, croc, or fur - even if its not real i still dont like that look

those things r over the top, ugly and should have never been produced ~ just goes 2 show how demented ppl can b confused

now i am going to go throw up feeling ill

They are first and foremost too ugly to wear, but IMO they are also a little disgusting in their flaunting of the dead-animal

Well, I'm probably gonna get bitched out wink but... even though I wouldn't wear these.. art is open to interpretation, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so don't beat me up for stating my opinion biggrin . At least these animals weren'tkilled to make the shoes.. like furs and cow boy boots, belts ect.. This is taking recycling to the next level. These scraps from the butcher is making something wearable and not something stinking up a dump. Kinda like going green...

I actually agree with this, if the animal is going to be killed, might as well use as much of it as possible.

The birds don't seem like meat by-products though lol

Yuck! I like fur and leather... but ewww. WTF is up with the ugly pistol heels? Actually, every shoe is hideous from every angel, its like the maker(s) of those shoes decided on the ugliest way to make them.

I've never seen snakeskin look so unpolished BTW.... Just awful. disbelief

I am scared to death of snakes and the thought of touching even a snake skin boot makes my skin crawl. I remember one time animal control came out and removed a snake from a neighbor's garage. I asked him what he was going to do with the snake and he said he was going to take it in the ditch and turn it loose. I told him he needed to kill the damn thing so there would never be any chance of it ever finding it's way back and he said "snakes are your friend, they eat rats". I said "the HELL they are, I'd live with a rat before I'd live with a snake any day". lol

What woman would really want to walk around in a pair of horse or cow hooves? It's like wearing a cow pattern cause animal prints are in. Nobody wants to purposely make horse or cow be the thought when somebody's looking at them. And those birds are greasy looking, not even pretty white fluff, and the expression on their face. Is that horror? Nuh huh, there's just too much going on there, psychologically with all that. A snake's head on your shoes? shake
