Remember when Kentucky Fried Chicken was good when the Colonel was running the MFer?!?

Did you notice that back in 1969-1980, KFC was better than fast food? This is another case of how the mighty has fallen since the death of the Colonel.

On the real it's 70's actor James Watson , Jr who played in a few black 70's sitcoms such as Sanford And Son, The Jeffersons, Good Times as well as Gimme A Break, and other series such as The Love Boat, BJ and the Bear, The Rockford Files, etc. The list is endless for

this guy. I always thought he looked like Lionel Richie during his acting heyday in

the 70's.

Yo know what was gold at KFC?

CHICKEN LITTLES!

Those were good.

I stopped eating fast food unless it was an emergency way back in 2001, but if they brought back CHICKEN LITTLES, I'd have to eat some every now and then.

The slogan "finger-lickin' good" always grosses me out. I hate it when people lick their fingers when they eat, or even worse - when they suck the food off their fingers with a loud smacking sound. It's unsanitary and just plain gross. Use a napkin instead, people.

I remember when KFC used to have those mini strawberry pies. Not shortcakes y'all but actual pies with the flakey light crust, big ole strawberries with whipped cream on top and they came in these little tiny aluminum tins. I remember my grammy would take us to the KFC, when they had room for dining, and she'd order us those pies. I wanted the strawberry but my brothers liked those nasty chocolate pies. Grammy would get a one piece. Yep, that's the other thing. You used to be able to order ONE PIECE OF CHICKEN with a drink and a biscuit. Good times.

Honestly I don't remember what it tasted like back in the late 70s to the 80s, and for a long time I didn't buy fast food maybe once a year generally a burger, so I can't make a taste comparison. But what I can't get my head around is not that long ago paying $5 for a 8pc mixed now costing $10+ for thighs and legs only. KFC or any of them haven't been seeing me.

I don't think so. I know New Yorkers that have come South where i

am and stated that KFC is king. Popeyes is a poor distant cousin of

Bojangles and both of them together couldn't fuck with KFC. lol They have

one Popeyes in my hometown and none where i currently live and i don't miss

them at all.

Lil' Bucket Parfaits!!! Lawd I remember them. I liked the lemon ones.

KFC was the only fried chicken spot where I lived until they built a Mrs. Winner's Chicken (an Atlanta area chain that recently went out of business) nearby. At Mrs. Winner's, you could get a 12 pc., 2 sides 6 biscuits, and a gallon of sweet tea for $15 or $16 back in the day. lol

Now I get my fried chicken at Kroger.

Yea, their chicken from the 70s till the early 80s. The original recipe actually was softer, less crunchy. It had a great smell to it.

McDonalds has changed as well; both the fries and the burgers were much better way back when.

All you others say Hell Yea!! woot!

highfive It might have been a west coast franchise. I'm in SF.

I had no choice when I was a child because Pioneer was located near home, but my parents loved it. It seems so hard and like reddish orangy nasty color to it. UGH! Back then, I used to love KFC, but system rejection ended that in the '90's. Popeyes, Lucky's, and Safeway chicken are the way to go when I get that monthly craving.
