The mini vacation thread!

Let's all take a small vacation, wherever you want to go! And you don't even have the leave the comfort of your own home. Post pictures of places you wish you could run off too, tell of what you'd like to do, the things you'd like to see, and so forth.

Me..if I could run off anywhere right now, it would be to someplace warm, with a large white sandy beach, and a promenade for walking, roller blading, etc. Swimming in the water, checking out the cuisine...heaven! cloud9

Ipanema...

Or good ol' Waikiki..

Or Cancun:

And I don't mind this song playing in the background.lol

Close your eyes, and let's go! The world is yours...biggrin

Tahiti is on my Bucket List for sure...

But I definitely wouldn't mind going back to Cancun...

...or Miami's South Beach, but with a wad of cash and a room on the beach...

Random, off-topic comment... I had a psychic tell me that in one of my past lives I was fisherman in Borneo.

Back on topic - I just took a mini vacation. I spent a few days in Punta del Este, Uruguay. On the beach all day, at the clubs all night. Aaah! biggrin

Ahhhh Cerebus! You have no idea how much I long to go to St Kilda! It completely haunts me & I well up every time I see photos of it or it's on tv. I had to buy a book about it many years ago as I have a strange affinity with the place. There was a display about St Kilda in Kelvingrove museum in Glasgow & I stood there completely transfixed for a very, very long time. Couldn't tear myself away from the images of the crofts & cobbled street & all of the people's faces who lived there. I just know I've been there before, just not in this present skin! I'm sure you can only visit it if you go as part of a National trust conservation team to do repair work in the summer. It's a fascinating place with an even more fascinating history.

cool Certainly wasn't expecting to find anybody who wanted to go there as badly as I do on the org. Yes, incredibly fascinating place. I bet you could get there if you took the time to meet the right people... and made a big enough donation. lol In all seriousness, there are still people who live there. So I bet if you if we took the time to figure out all the loopholes we could probably get out there for a short visit.

Apologies for not realizing this was a warm weather thread, though. Cerebus likes the cold, so his vacation dreams don't really take weather under consideration.

Let's do it! Sometime in the future though cuz right now I'm too busy being mummy to two small children! I know there is some kind of M.O.D or military base there. But I didn't know that folk lived there throughout the year. There must be a wee pub there then! Sounds perfect! biggrin Another place that I must visit before I pop ma clogs is Stornoway & the Isle Of Lewis, in the Outer Hebrides. My father worked there for a spell in the 1980's & he said he could have just lain down in the earth, that's how much at home he felt there. Very rugged & wild, not a lot of folk. Aye, sounds good tae me!

I want to go Florida or California right now.

I've been to Florida twice, and this time I will go to:

Disney World

Epcot Centre (is EO still playing?)

MGM Studios

Universal Studios

Busch Gardens

Will check out some clubs, cause now I can, ones that play reggaeton and spanish music though we have them here too

Daytona Beach

California:

Disneyland

Universal Studios

Hollywood including the walk

Forest Lawn

Hayvenhurst

To visit family friends

I'm not sure if St Kilda has any kind of population at all.

I think it's brilliant you'd consider anywhere in Scotland for your hols.

Have a good one anyway.
