The PET thread We haven't had a thread about pets in a while.
Do you have one? Do you want one?
Let's discuss anything and everything about pets.
I'm starting this because my brother's dog (a chihuahua) has become attached to me. When I come home he nearly has a fit begging for my attention and for a belly rub. He cries if I ignore him, and lately he's been sleeping under the covers at my feet.
The reason why I allow that is twofold; 1) when I was sick in bed for two days, this dog climbed into bed with me (NEVER done that before) and stayed at my side the ENTIRE time I was sick. He only left me (when I was asleep) to go eat and go outside. 2) whenever I would come home depressed/sad/anxious with the shit going on in my life...he would greet me with a sad/desperate attempt to get my attention then jump on my lap if I was sitting down and try his best to lick my face (which I don't allow). It was weird...everytime I felt like shot he would do this. But honestly, taking the time to rub his belly/neck for a bit did feel comforting.
So what about you all?

PET - Polyethylene terephthalate...right? We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

We have 2 gerbils - or should I say my daughter has 2 gerbils. She got them for her 6th birthday last year and she cares for them really well.
My son often asks for a pet dog. Actually we'd all like a pet dog, but unfortunately we're not home enough during the day so I don't think it would be fair to get one. Also I couldn't be bothered to walk it every day. And also we'd have to get someone to take care of it while we're away.... so getting a dog just isn't going to happen at the moment.
I told my son that he can have a pet for his 6th birthday (when he's a little more grown up) and I thought he might have forgotten about it.... but he's going to be 6 in February and he says the only thing he wants is a Rabbit. I've been trying to talk him into having a couple of goldfish instead, but he's not having any of it.

This is my 11 year old cat. Her name is Thomasina and I've had her since she was a kitten. She thinks she is my baby and even gets jealous when I give my attention to children. She is a comfort to me and can sense when I'm upset.

And she's jealous of my laptop which is why she's laying on it in this pic. And yes, she has her head resting on the table. I was lucky to catch her in that pose because she HATES cameras and knows when I'm trying to sneak a shot in. Shake it til ya make it
