any advise? falling back to bad, old habits

I've noticed with myself there are a few "rules" i should do, and i'm happy.

-Keep my house clean, (the look of a clean house in the morning makes me feel really good)

-eat enough,

-work out, (makes me feel good about myself)

-not spend too much money,

-visit friends

-not spending my free hours behind the computer all the time. (it actually makes me depressed)

Shouldn't be so hard. I can keep up with them for a few days, but when i'm having a bad day (stress from work for example), I fall directly back to old habits. And when I fall back to these habits, it's very hard to go back to the above, although I very well know they are good for me.

It's like I feel "comfortable" in my bad habits, although it's not what I actually want, but it comforts me.

Why do I give up the good stuff so easily?

Any advise?

I've fallen back on old habbits, robertlove.

Perhaps I should be taking a few pointers from you.

sounds like you're a normal person. we all try to do those things, sometimes we do better at them.....and sometimes we don't. just keep striving and don't get too down on yourself when you didn't do so well.

:-)

Yeah, I think that's one of the things what happens.....I get angry at myself when i'm doing not so well, which makes me feel actually worse. Always been hard for myself, another habit ;.)

I feel like you when it comes to spending too much time at the computer, it makes me feel bad. shake I used to be addicted to the Org chat room, sounds completely ridiculous and it was, looking back at it. Since then I've cut down on my computer and Org time considerably, I sometimes fall back during a weekend but then I get my shit back together. I fortunately have a dog that gets my out the house, she needs her walks so I can't sit in all day. That's a very good thing for me. I wish you good luck in your endevours. rose

If it helps, I'm sure we can arrange for everybody to be nasty to you on here. biggrin
