How deep/shallow do you consideryourself to be? I can't imagine anyone would like to consider themselves as shallow. Maybe you do. Have you really thought about how or deep you are? Why would you sway towards one or the other.
If you consider yourself a deep or shallow person, why do you think so? There's Joy In Expatriation.

Yeah, exactly.
The term is not only overused it's usually used incorrectly.

I also think if you thought of yourself as deep that would be conceit. And I'm not even sure what it would be if you think of yourself as shallow. Anyway, this is miles away from the OP question, sooo.... bananas.

I can be both. I am definitely vain at times, although I hate that about me. But I think I can be deep too. I have my moments, really.

People who try to be deep all the time disgust me.
I don't see how someone could be a completely shallow, i don't think it's possible.

I thought that I wasn't shallow (or AS shallow as I apparently am) until I started filtering through pics on the online dating site

I tell clients I photograph that retouching is VERY important, since the image has to make the impression that in real life their whole personality makes - which engages more than just the sense of sight. You look much longer at a photograph than you do at a real person (especially one you don't know well) and notice flaws.

I was deep. But that was before. Is there any place of refuge one can flee from this insanity

I think I'm as deep as a rain drop puddle on the ground.
So I guess that makes me shallow.

I think there's a lot to what somebody else said, that if you think of yourself as deep it's a conceit. I think in this instance it's more of a reflection of what others think of you than what you think about yourself. However, I used to be very shallow when it came to humour, using it to deflect many things - but those who really bothered to get to know me knows that there is much more to me than that, and I guess that would be referred to as some kind of depth.
On this site though, "deep" equals "boring". I'm in that category nowadays, the things that used to amuse me don't anymore. I'd rather make serious posts if it's possible with the topic at hand. Like this one.

Now it's easier to find people feeling proud of being shallow than people feeling proud of their deepness. Sign of the times.
