Usually Tom Cruise doesn't do anything for me, but he always looks REALLY hot in these movies. I remember the first time I saw that MI with Thandie Newton in it, I laid eyes on him and was like : . "I don't think you'd do well in captivity." - random person's comment to me the other day

I sit just me, or are they grooming Tom Cruise to be more of a butt-kicking badass?
Sorry...but I can't wrap me head around that.
Matt Damon I can believe can hold his own in a fight.
Tom Cruise? By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

It's funny you have mentioned that, I seem to recall Ethan Hunt kicking butt and taking names in Mission II. Incidentally, this new film was directed by Brad Bird of Pixar's The Incredibles. Yes, The Incredibles. But judging from the trailer, dude is going to bring it!

No, that's Robin Thicke's wife, Paula Patton.

Nice stunts. I was really hoping they'd take stock of what happened with the last one tho and make it more "team-oriented" like the series, but they're marketing it as the Tom Cruise show once again Would have thought having Jeremy Renner, Josh Holloway and Paula Patton thrown up in lights might drum up more interest. I'm afraid of Americans. I'm afraid of the world.

Looks great. The Mission: Impossible movies have all been a pleasant surprise so far.
And, yeah, Tom was utterly disgusting to me all the way up until, say, Interview with the Vampire. Since then, he's definitely getting more attractive -- albeit perhaps also more annoying -- with age. [Edited 6/29/11 7:24am] Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

J.J. Abrams, Mission III's director, co-produced this latest one. So I, too, am hoping that the other team members will receive equal screen time to do action sequences.

J.J. Abrams Talks About About Brad Bird's Mission: Impossible August 5, 2011
It was recently confirmed that filmmaker J.J. Abrams would indeed be moving onto Star Trek 2 this fall.
But he's said in the meantime that they're taking it slowly, letting the sequel develop without being rushed. Abrams answered a few questions recently, speaking not only about Star Trek, but also Brad Bird's Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol, which we all saw that first trailer for a couple of weeks ago.
Bad Robot, and Abrams himself, produced the film and were there helping Bird make his big transition to live-action. Abrams comments on both projects, not with any major news, but with great quotes at least.
First, it's best to sum up anything Abrams has to say about the Star Trek sequel with this statement: "I just want to make sure that we're putting the story and the characters, the cast and the crew, and most importantly the audience, first before we start talking about exactly which locations we're going to be shooting at and what the wardrobe and visual effects budgets are."
Therefore, don't expect any major updates soon, especially because they just started really working on the screenplay anyway. But let's jump over to Mission Impossible instead, because that's already scheduled for release this December, and Abrams has some fantastic things to say about it.
Here's what he mentions about Brad Bird's M:I4:
