French Open

Seems as open this year as it's been for a while.

Federer vs Djokovic is hopefully a great semi-final. Would love to see Fed give Djokovic some trouble but Djokovic is playing out of this world.

Would be great to see Murray vs Nadal in the other semi. Hopefully Soderling and his huge boring game don't get in Nadal's way again.

Bartoli vs Schiavone in the Women's semi. It's always good to see someone from the host country doing well but she doesn't have the game to win the whole thing. She's got a good shot to make the final though. Francesca had her glory last year. Maybe it would be nice to share it around, as much as I love her competitiveness.

It'll probably be Azarenka vs Sharapova in the second semi and I REALLY REALLY hope there is a concerted campaign by the crowd to register their disapproval at the completely ridiculous-bordering-on-cheating-SCREAMING that both these b****es use when they play! I hope the crowd either wears earmuffs or BOOs loudly. Enough is really enough!

Well sh*t. I'll have a conversation with myself. smile

Azarenka got spanked woot! Nice one Li.

Sharapova smashed Petkovic so looks ominous. If she gets her rhythm she's lethal and goodbye to everyone else. She'll probably take the title, I don't think Schiavone or Bartoli can stop her either.

Top Four seeds have made it to the mens semis clapping

It's great that Murray found some form but he twisted his ankle in an earlier round and Rafa looks back on track after tuning Soderling. It will be a good confidence boost for Murray but he must be the least favoured to take it.

Can anyone stop the Djoker?

Federer has been playing well but his backhand is a weakness that Rafa has exploited with the high bouncing lefty angle he creates. Djokovic's two handed backhand copes far better and with power and control has become a huge weapon. His improved fitness and movement and belief have made him invincible. He's noticably matured on court - like the penny has dropped - and he'll become number 1 for the first time if he beats Federer in their semi-final, which he should. That would equal McEnroes record of 42 wins to start the year and take him 3 wins away from the longest winning streak ever. All hail Djokovic!

These are my photos from the French Open yesterday. It was awesome to be there and to see Nadal play and win.

Right after he won, he jumped in the air, it was brilliant!

We got to see the women's match before Nadal's match. Li played very well. The weather was perfect for watching tennis.

cool

Got back home yesterday. Just going through my photos and remembering the day. It was my first Open. We sat in VIP and drank champagne all day. It was a good day out!

So my picks suck razz

Federer takes out Djokovic and ends his amazing streak. It's a nice birthday present for Nadal.

Another Nadal and Federer final woot! Hopefully a classic and with Nadal looking a bit shaky, Fed has a good chance to claim a second title. Go Roger!

Womens Final tonight

Li vs Schiavone

If Li doesn't get yips, her depth and power should be too much for Francesca. Second Grand Slam Final in a row, she'll be less nervous but it will be a great match. One thing you know for sure is that Francesca is a great fighter so hopefully it will be another high quality match. I'll pick Li for the title.

Im glad Nadal is in the finals...he's had a tough few months. Its amazing to me how many majors he's won already..these guys and girls are very talented, although, they have the benefit of new technology.

nod Considering he's only just turned 25 and he's playing for his sixth (!) French Open Title. It seems like he's been around much longer. He said himself that it feels likes hes been playing for 100 years lol

I watched a bit on TV, but I am not that much interested in watching tennis anymore since John McEnroe stopped playing lol.

Damn, wish I was still there today to see the match between Nadal & Federer.

It looks lovely and sunny.

I want Nadal to win, mother in law is coming over to watch it later, she loves Federer.

Women's & Men's semi finals last week was my first live Professional tennis experience. I have to say that it was pretty awesome being there to see Li & Nadal play.

I am really glad that hubby was sent there for work and that I tagged along.

Great experience being a VIP for the day.

mr.green
