thumbs up!

I agree with you on just about everything.

The constant "mutation" references bu Charles X are probably meant to remind everyone (ad nauseum) that he's supposed to be brilliant.

Hank (the Beast) was definitely a boring character in the film...his comic book persona is definitely much more lively!

The characters of "hoola hoop" guy (Havoc?), the adaptation guy, and the wrong Angel (seriously...who decided to have a character named Angel in an X-Men movie that's NOT the original blond rich dude with the bird wings???) ...are all disposeable characters.

Yeah, the supporting cast left a lot to be desired. And their backstories were way perverted: First of all, the original team was supposed to be Beast, Angel, Jean, Cyclops and Iceman. But if they had to bring in characters who didn't show up for another 10, 20, 30 or more years, they at least could have done their characters justice. Banshee and Moira MacTaggart are both supposed to be Scottish, with Banshee somewhat older and Moira and Charles a bit sweet on one-another. Havok is not at all supposed to be an X-Man before his brother Cyclops. And Mystique has no history (of which I'm aware) with Charles.

Angel, BTW, isn't so much a movie invention. She's, in fact, a legit character from the books named Angel Salvadore [i.e., "Angel" is not a code name], but she shows up like 40 years after the original team lol , as does Darwin.

Of the "good guys," I was probably most disappointed by Havok's depiction. For years, I've been imagining what sort of cool things they could do with his trademark white concentric circle motif. I loved the "hoola hoop" idea, but when he fired off his energy, it came off less interesting than even the smoke rings Godzilla Junior spit out. confused

one other plus i must say about xmen first class....thank god it wasn't in 3D!!

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

X2 was the best! X1 had a great opening, the rest of the film was descent.

X3 was a joke! I couldn't wait to see Wolverine, but was extremely disappointed! It was the worst of

the X-Men movies. So far the best Marvel movies are BLADE 1, Spider-man 2, & X2.

Their improving on the HULK, but still needs lots of work. I support comic book movies because

I grew up reading comics, and I want them to continue making these movies.

Hopefully they'll get it right!

I love me some DC to! superman The Dark Night is the greatest of all time! batman

in spidey 2 he was exposing himself to much as peter 4 my tastes. and that subway sequence and everyone saying they won't tell, bullshit! lol in this day and age his ass would have been placed all over youtube lol

dc's problem in movies is that they never fully come with it on the big screen. how many dc characters beside superman and batman have they made? at least with the batman series they introduce other villans, can't say the same about superman. even in the new reboot of superman it's going 2 be general zod, again.

I know, right?! It's like damn, how many people are you gonna tell?? As you know somebody will wanna make some money off that shit and sell him out in a heartbeat! This is NYC we're talking about here. Lol!

And I didn't know that for this THIRD Superman reboot that they're gonna feature General Zod....AGAIN! And then when and if this one doesn't do as well as they had hoped, we'll get a fourth reboot. Gimme a break! Get a concept, stick to it, and add some freshness to it!!

Amen!!! At least give the housefly stripper a real codename so as not to have these newbie X-Men fans think she was the original Angel. As I mentioned in my post, they're gonna have Havoc become an X-Man BEFORE his brother, Cyclops??! Blasphemy! lol They just fucked with the timeline waaaay too much for my tastes. Still a decent movie, but it had more than enough to make a comics-version fan go crazy!

I saw X-Men classics last night. It was to slow for me. The choosing of mutants for the movie was horrible!

The only good thing about the movie was Magneto. I enjoyed all his scenes!

Magneto carried the movie.

I respectfully disagree. X2 was and still is THE best X-Men film thus far. That sequel has a balance of drama, action-packed sequence, & an interesting storyline that is respectable to the X-Men comic series.

X3 was the first f***-up in the entire X-Men film series.

Here here. X2 was simply THE best of the trilogy, hands down. I was very disappointed in the third. It just seemed like mindless action without the heart of the second or even of the first.

SPOILERS:

I, like Spinlight said, didn't understand why they fucked with the timeline of when and which mutants were a part of the X-Men. Banshee? Havoc?? Alex is an X-Man before Scott?? Mags killing Shaw?? GTFOH!! And plus, Beast wasn't supposed to mutate until much later on in the timeline.

Oh yeah, and why was brutha man the first to die?!?!! lol Oh yeah, I forgot...this was set back in 1962. Lol! I never did like his character/power, either.

Overall, I liked this movie and was glad it wasn't a total fuckup. It just has some holes that irk me a bit. With the next one in the series, it definitely leaves itself open to truly start the REAL X-Men, the classic way with Scott, Jean, Bobby, and Warren. I also liked seeing some of the mutants Prof was discovering with Cerebro, and I was pleasantly surprised to see my boy Wolverine cameo in this as well.

My son and I were thinking the same damned thing! lol

SPOILER

I was shocked by the lack of a post-credits extra, too.

SPOILER

I know, right?! About 1/4 of the audience in my theatre sat through the entire credits just to see what came at the very end. There was a collective boo when the screen went black. mad

We did too. There were several people waiting and we all booed. Why did I wait so late to see it? First time it was sold out...tonight it was still sold out. Had to go to three theaters before we got tickets.

Can anyone name all of the mutants Cerebro saw in that recruitment scene? I know I saw Storm, but the rest were a blur.

I noticed Storm first. My son didn't see her.

Out of all the X-Men movies, only 2 had stuff after the credits (X-3 and Wolverine).

It seems to be the Avengers-linked ones that you can depend on for the after-credits stuff. I guess those have us spoiled lol

there is a scene in xmen where prof x puts on the cerebo 4 the 1st time, it looked like braniac in a way, they can't come up with that for superman?
