I don't think I'm quite cut out for picking strings on the guitar. Singing at the same time is no small feat, it's so damn frustrating but I can't leave it alone. confused

Sing, rap, write, produce, arrange, engineer and play more than 1 instrument.

I also get a huge kick out of composing my own stuff. I love words/lyrics. I take breaks when too many demons start knocking. Sometimes I obsess about a composition because too many demons are knocking. I can't really find a balance. Recently I 've been playing a whole lot, my fingertips are in a mess.

I've got a lot songs that I need to record and put behind me.

Recently a my daughter was fooling around and stabbed me in the eye with the corner of a book. I had to take pain killers and wear an eye patch for two days. Icouldn't work much so I wrote a song.

Look...

Don't Let Them See You Cry

If you feel the same I'll come around
T' catch some T.V. or paint the town
And in a while you will feel better

Some people don't watch what they say

And keep a list of your mistakes

Like they're the only things that matter

Welcome to the world of modern thought

It's just as rounded as it is short

I'd pay top dollar just to hear you talk

Life is love and war come n' give it a try
There will be casualties on both sides

Don't ever let them see you cry

Don't let them see you cry

Y'know you're wanted, you are the first
No less than the entire universe

There is no equal under heaven

So where is the harm if you're alright

And if you still have some appetite

And for a smile you'll be forgiven

Hangin' about like a chandelier

The light refracted in my crystal tears

I think I know what I like about you

If you need a hand I'll be glad to oblige
Stiff upper lip with a skip in my stride

As if I've never been refused, or denied

'Never been refused, that's my line

Welcome to the world of modern thought

So damn loud it won't be ignored

I'm writing checks that I cannot afford

Life is love and war come n' give it a try
There will be casualties on both sides

Don't ever let them see you cry

Don't let them see you cry

lol

I love that song text!

It reminded of the affair I had last summer. It was a rebound affair, he would come around, watch some tv together, we made up all kind of 3d mapping project ideas or graffity that were so funny,

(1st couplet)

and I cried so many tears over my marriage and the unjust and horrible powertrips. And he would comfort me an be so great to me.

(2nd couplet)

He strolled along with me and a friend to a party with only P music.

My ex-husband was there, just because he knew I would be there and felt like teasing me.

I wanted to leave the party. However my dearest comfort prince would not allow me to. He said that I deserved to listen and dance to P music all night and should not let him have power over me.

So he dragged me to the dancefloor, danced with me and made me laugh with his great humour and style. He distracted me and made me have fun and ex-husband left.

(refrain: don't let them see you cry)

This text went straight into my heart. It reflects last summer to me. With the grief over a man and another sweet man showing me that there are truly good man. Eventhough we'r not together anymore, we are still very close friends, supporting eachother and loving eachother for the persons we are. And in poor and tough times we still support eachoter while dealing with everything (last three couplets)

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

Nice to hear you like the text. You got what it's about - compassion, offering companionship.
There's a nice tune to it. If I ever get around to recording it I'll send you a copy. Thanks for the positive feedback.wink

Yep. Sing, guitar, bass, some drums, some keyboards, and anything else I can make noise with.

I'm not the world's greatest at any of them, but I am a really good entertainer. Hell, I impressed Prince, so I can die happy!

My first thought was a "fire sign" by the comment you made regarding charts. Your Pisces moon makes you very creative and psychic. Aries are one of my favorite signs, the other is Gemini.

That is why you and I and others have to practice, practice, practice. I would be more interested in practicing if I had Prince songs. I have to search the stores that sell popular music, e.t.c.

There is an online site with pretty decent coverage of prince material (Legit Copyright stuff) I bought When U were mine and Peach from here:-)

THIS IS A LEGAL SITE WITH COPYRIGHTS ETC: http://www.sheetmusicdire...fault.aspx

Select your country from the drop down menu and away you go.

Also I use "Ultimate Guitar" website, this is where Members put their transcribed songs on for other people to use, You do need Guitar Pro software though (I use this and its quite good)

I find Guitar pro good fun to use, its more enjoyable as you "Play along" rather than simply having a Metronome etc.

I use an Ibanez RG350 which I have to say I regret buying - It seemed a good idea at the time lol.

I didnt see any point in spending a lot of money on a Guitar unless I got good, I haven't quite got there yet lol

I also play my own variation on Paisley Park, which is fun - Nice to experiment with stuff and I have never actually found a decent transcription of the song wink

One song I would luuuuuuuurrrve to play is David Gilmours "The Blue" OMG that song is so awesomely beautiful - The whole song just takes you away to a beautiful place and then Gilmour kicks off his Guitar solo and you just melt right there and then. Gilmour is an amazing Musician and an Awesome Guitarist.

Very nice thank you smile I love Spanish / Flamenco guitar so was a pleasure to be greeted with that short piece he played when the page loaded up biggrin

If you like Acoustic Guitar then look up Michael Hedges and his tune "Aerial Boundaries" on Youtube, I guarantee you will not be disappointed wink Sadly he isnt around anymore, he suffered from leukemia. But he left the world some beautiful, beautiful music smile

Also other Guitarists to mention: Stanley Jordan (Does two handed tap style playing), Chris Adams (also known as Chris Pusey) well worth a look smile

Life is short, don't be a dick.
